Does anyone have any experience with this Harbor Freight jack? (http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=92782) I've been wanting a new, heavier-duty jack than the POS I've been using for years and they have this one on sale right now for $150 plus I've got a coupon for 15% additional off. Just curious if it's worth my time. I've had a few bad experiences with HF and a few good ones. Anyone know this particular item first hand?

Don't look too shabby. That Chinese thing still bothers me though. I guess that pad on the handle is to avoid scratching your bumper?

Have you seen it in person? How are the welds?

I will say that the last rapid pump jack I had died an early death.

I have their $100 3000lb. "racing" jack and it has never been anything but great. It deals with my Corvette and my wife's Grand Prix without any problems at all. Most jacks are Chinese nowdays anyway....

I will say that the last rapid pump jack I had died an early death.

So did mine. Then the fun began TRYING to find repair parts! (it was a HF look a like - "Power Fist")

The repair shop just smiled at me and said, "You get what you pay for!"
"If you want; you can "pitch" it in our recycle bin."

I got a 3000 lb aluminum one from Sears (Craftsman) for about the same price as HF when it was on sale, plus C Club days.. works great so far..

My dad got the one from Sears, 6 months later it leaks. My Harbor Freight one I have had for 3 years and it works great.

Well, I picked it up this afternoon and it appears to be of reasonable quality. For $128 after the discount on the sale price, it looks like a decent buy. I'll give it a try in the next week or so and post up a review.

I've had the HF 3000 lb Al jack for 3yrs. My first one died within 30 days and HF replaced it free. The sears AL/Steel on is nice, but at 55lbs it weighs as much as my AC hydraulics DK20. I've been looking at the Al jack at costco that sells for $99. It looks to be better made than the HF jack and weighs @ 44 lbs.

Didn't see this thread until just now.

I have a slightly older version of that same jack. I waited until it went on sale and bought it. I didn't want it for the full HF price. It's about 4 years old now. No problems. I use it regularly on my Roadrunner and on my 3/4-ton Dodge. And I usually put it in the middle of the axle to jack up the whole front or rear end at once, not just one corner of the vehicle.
