Stick welder? If so, and its going to be your primary welder, Id make sure its AC/DC. Its nice to be able to weld on both. I use one machine thats DC only and it is kind of annoying not being able to run 7024 because it makes people think I actually know what Im doing hahaha but Id imagine havoing AC only would be way worse because you cant run 6010 or standard 7018.
Did a quick search, it would appear that Airco is no more, bought out by ESAB but all repairs and old parts are taken care of by another company.
Got any more info?

I've found that this unit is an arc/mig/tig machine. Have to buy a HF box for tig use.
The unit I'm bidding on has the mig gun.

I remember the vo-tech where I took evening welding courses had one of these that was at my station. I used it for GMAW ans SMAW with no problems at all (other than my learning curve). It seemed used hard as most school eqipment is but worked well. I'll never forget that multi-process machine. I too would love to have one for myself!

Oh than I dont know, but its probably been around for a while, so I know that I for one, would want to give it a test run before you take delivery of it.
Sorry I cant help more, maybe check the hobart board?

I bought my 160 used in 1987. The only problem I had was the start switch for the Mig went bad. I put a micro-switch kit on it and haven't had a problem yet. You can see it in the corner...

It has been a good machine and I have no complaints. You can see I have a high freq. box. I also have the Tig torch and lines. I bought a Lincoln PT185 this spring so I would be interested in getting rid of the hi-freg stuff if anyone is interested...

This post is over three years old, so I would guess he already sold it.
