My name is Juan, and I'm a buyer for a online car audio and car parts retailer. I've been into car audio (which for the most part means buying tools, gear to put it in) since about 1990 and have been collecting tools since about 1986 (dad was pretty handy and had his own tool box he gave up when he left the country).
I'm in the process of moving and finally getting my own garage (always either rented, lived in a condo with a parking garage, or my latest place was a cinder block garage with a moisture issue). Brand new construction, going to do it right (last garage I had a wall that leaked, a ceiling that leaked, a floor that was leaking and no lights (well, no permanent lights). Basically a 2 car port to keep the lawnmower. My work bench consisted of discarded tabletops from a office surplus store that threw them out (and then it rained so portions of swelled up, so I sawed that end off so the ends didn't have an edge). Got some 4 x 4 and some casters from Harbor freight and I was set. New place will be different.
Looking to get some ideas as to how to get the most bang for my buck and what to look out for when buying tools and setting up my garage. Mostly the garage will be to work on my car and possibly some minor electronic stuff.
