Anyone have a setup where they polish and chrome at home? I know there are kits out there for doing chroming, wonder if anyone has ever done it.
Not Chroming but I did see a show on home powder coating that was cool. Just buy the largest old used oven you can find and a simple powder coat kit.

Eastwood has tons of polishing stuff. I'll have to check into the chroming kits though. I have seen those cheapo gold plating kits. Want some gold valve covers on your supra? :pimpflash

Basically from what I understand is it's illegal to run those chemicals out of your home, so that's why no one uses chrome stuff much at home, plus you still have to polish before you chrome plate, otherwise all the imperfections will show up.

This website should take care of any questions you might have on diy plating. They have a pretty informative forum as well.
Polishing is a completely diferent beast, no chemicals (except maybe a paint stripper :boobies: ) just compounds and buffs. Its alot cheaper and user friendly but more labor, imo.
If you do polish I can't recomend enough that you use a deacent sealer either high temp clear or the obvious zoop seal (http://www.zoopseal.com)
