1993 Honda Civic coupe, Milano Red. Powered by a 1995 Integra GS-R 1.8L DOHC VTEC engine. Changed out the pistons to some Japanese Integra Type-R slugs, with the Honda anti-friction skirt coating and balancing by Spoon Sports. Compression is 11.5:1 with a modified ECU program (9,000 RPM limiter). Dyno'd before the ECU program, and she was making 160 WHP at 8200 RPM, untuned. Upgraded suspension, brakes and chassis stiffening, gutted interior (no sound deadening or carpet, just floor mats, 2200 lbs curb weight) and powder coated wheels. She's a screamer... :D
Most of the modifications were kept in the Honda family. The upgraded engine, pistons, brakes, suspension (except the coilovers), seats, wheels, instrument cluster, etc, are all from the Honda lineup. I could go with almost all aftermarket stuff, but I like using OEM components.
I'll post some pix when I get my hosting back up.

* Fully ported & polished
* Cams custom timed
* 4.09 gear

yeah...so that night was more than a bit hazy...my roommate and i got pretty inebriated and had a bunch of friends over...middle of the night and I had a MAJOR craving for nachos, so I made some, actually, I made a lot, like three bags worth. Long storry short, my roomate thought it funny to dump them on my jeep as shown in the picture. After getting over the initial shock, i agreed it was pretty damn funny.

1996 Mustang Cobra SVT. The color is a factory color from Ford that they painted on 1999 cars. Mine is the 761st car in that line. The paint changes 7 different colors depending on your viewing angle to the car.

Awesome...just stay away from grannies in the parking lot. You'd never be able to match the paint.

Awesome...just stay away from grannies in the parking lot. You'd never be able to match the paint.
The cool thing about this paint is it's actually easier to color match than a normal solid color. Unlike some of the "cheaper" brands of color shifting paint, BASF's Mystic has its color shift built into the pigment of the paint, not how the paint is actually sprayed on the car. I've had to had some of the panels on my car redone, and the color match is perfect (even 8 years after the original paint job). The hard part about getting the paint done is Ford copywrited it so a Ford rep. has to verify the vin number on the car before they will authorize BASF to release any paint, and any unused paint has to be returned to BASF.

96Mystic is right,
Dupont's "Chromalusion" and BASF's Mystic are the easiest paint to match in the world! Been painting for over thirty yeers and have touched up both of these colors...dead on match every time.
Try matching a three year old white or even black paint job!

My daily driver, comes heavily customized with vent holes in fenders and an "I dont care if you do hit me with your Benz" paint job. In all reality it is pretty trick though, deer killer bumper stiffners, 2000 watt inverter, custom plow frame, work lights, tool boxes, 4 wheel drive, dual tanks, all kind of interior mods to store stuff and the tray that hardly ever leaves the seat. 2 full sets of wheels and tires, summer and winter, custom tailgate. 1991, 200K +miles, no payments, no paint scratch/stone chip worries

Here are some shots of one of my two sports cars; both are Jaguar XK-E's with V-12 engines:
http://www.classicjaguar.com/CRAIGB5.jpg
BEFORE: Engine and tranny removed awaiting further tear down. Original Light Blue paint evident in engine bay. I liked it more than the Yellow but it was easier (cheaper) to paint the engine bay rather than the whole car.
Everything shown here comes apart with 3/8", 1/2" and 9/16" wrenches.
http://www.classicjaguar.com/CRAIGB7.jpg
DURING: Everything off the fire wall and being repainted, replated or replaced
http://www.classicjaguar.com/CRAIGB1.jpg
Cleaned up and rebuilt the steering and suspension
http://www.classicjaguar.com/cbreb9.jpg
AFTER: New paint, wiring harnesses, HD torsion bars, HD sway bar; custom adjustable shocks; billet aluminum steering rack mounts (see previous photo)
The engine frames are special light weight steel -- same as used in '70's era racing bicycles.
http://www.classicjaguar.com/89CB4.jpg
The crime: 106K+ miles of dirt grease oil and grime
http://www.classicjaguar.com/89CB5.jpg
The time (and cost) -- all done and ready to go back home. Everything on this engine is aluminum: block, oil pan, heads, tappet carriers and covers, water pump housing.
The apparent convoluted routing of the coolant hoses is due to two thermostats, electroncially controlled fans and the fact that the coolant is routed through the oil pump housing: cools the oil 20* C at the cost of raising the coolant temp only 2* C.
The E-N-T-I-R-E front 1/3 of the 1971 2+2 was rebuilt. This is my daily driver.
The other is a 72 Jaguar XK-E V-12 Convertible. The full-body repairs are complete -- body stripped, rust removed, dents properly repaired, and primed. Engine is next with paint and interior. BUT -- I gotta wait on doing it until I get my 2 or 3 car out-building / workshop built (no room in my attached three-car garage). And that is why I joined this site -- to get ideas on the best bang for the buck on that construction project.
Other cars both belong to SWMBO:
Her daily driver is an 03 Mercedez Benz ML 350 SUV and
her fun car is a '74 VW Thing (anyone remember those?).

its a 2 car garage so on the top of the lift is a 1934 Singer 1.5 Litre Sports, underneath that is a 1967 FIAT Dino Spider. Next to the lift is a 1934 Singer Le Mans on a mid-rise lift so I don't have to bend over to work on the chassis that one has no body right now as it is going through a restoration. In front of that is my 2003 Victory Vegas, sandwiched between all that is tools, welders, glass beader, oven for powder coating. In the driveway away from the neighbors view is the body for the 1934 Singer, a 1973 FIAT 124 Spider and 1953 Singer 4AD, those 2 get to stay outside because I am out of room.

Working on a Jag engine is no harder than working on a Chevy or Buick or whatever. The hardware is ALL SAE and the repair manual is very clear and helpful. All parts are readily available.
Now -- if you wanna talk about cost:
12 or 24 of everything + JAGUAR name on it + all aluminum components = :eyecrazy:

I know you are pulling my leg bout that last shot being my garage.
The photo was taken in '88 or '89 on Father's Days Weekend.
My car club sponsored a show inside a mall in Tucson. At the tme, the yellow Jag belonged to Earl (the red one has been mine since 1979).
In 1990, Earl introduced me to his daughter Sheri
In 1991, I married Sheri
in 1998, Sheri kept her dad's car in the family: she bought it for my birthday AND had it shipped to Germany where we were living.

USAA, the company that insures my house, came by the other day & 'suggested' we increase the garage coverage...we did! There's a pretty good alarm system in the garage (& house), motion detector lights around it & a motion detector out where the drive turns into our gate alerting us somebody is entering our property....
Thought about having a camera at the gate too???

Not bad....The F-150 has 183 rounds on it...4.2 V-6...it was in a construction fleet in Ohio...Supervisors truck...pretty good maintenance from what I can tell...this thing is going to get a workout from me...heavier rear bumper with an intergral jib crane, HD tie downs in the bed, etc.
The Lincoln is a two owner job...I bought it from a Baptist minister in Kentucky...he bought it from a member of his church...124K but it really is nice..great car for my bride who drives about 5,000 miles per year...

Aren't you supposed to DRIVE your Mustang when it's finished? !?!?!
Yeah - well... I will for a good chunk of the time I take it out. But for taking it on major trips I'll use the trailer.
I remember when I took a car up here from California. My Father had a 1992 Explorer that I bought from him. 20 months with 84,000 miles. (To say he drove was an understatement).
Well - The front of the truck was spotless when I got it. 6 months later (and only 8,000 miles) the front of the truck looked like all I ever did was follow a gravel truck. Totally trashed. I went through three windshields in two years.
So - The Mustang will be treated to a trailer ride on the long trips to CA or wherever. I'll probably take the car down to the Bay Area somewhat frequently.

Never dyno'd but the ET in 95 degree high humidity weather was 12.40 @ 108 thru the exhaust using worn hoosier quicktime street tires. When the tires were a little newer in 50 degree weather 12.02 @ 111 .... I would like to try a pair of slicks and open the headers also at least a 825-850 carb instead of my 750dp :bounce: That would let her breathe a little better, Of course a set of nice aluminium heads wouldn't hurt either but thats not currently in the picture :3gears:

This is my first post. I just found this site from another post on "Stovebolt.com", an old Chevy truck site I go to. I'm a life long car guy and the older I get the more I enjoy the garage itself. It kind of reminds me of the Beach Boys song, for you old guys like me, "In my room". I just love being there. I'll post pictures of my shop as soon as I figure out how to do it. In my garage now,
House garage
-94 S10, driver
-2000 Impala, driver
-92 Z34, spare driver in the driveway
Shop, toy room
-34 Ford streetrod, all Chevy drivetrain
-53 Chevy pickup, 350, Camaro subframe, engine, etc
-63 Chevy II prostreet, built it in 1979/1980, VERY fast and fun to drive
-48 Chevy pickup project
-67 Chevy II project that I can't seem to get going on
I'm trying to not add to this until I find another one too good to pass up!

Thanks! I notice your profile mentions old British cars. Care to elaborate? :) Also, you can't say my TC is new compared to your car without sharing said car with us. That's just teasing! ;)
Didn't mean to tease...I own 2 1934 Singer's, a Le Mans and a 1 1/2/Litre Sports, that makes your TC the newest toy :) I also own a 53 Singer 4ADT but will be selling that soon so I am not sure it counts, although I have owned the 53 since 1974. Had a few other Brit cars also. Right now playing with the Italian ones and British only.

When you have some extra space, you become popular...like owning a pick up truck on moving day. :dunno:

Surely when your friends leave their cars they understand about the "right to drive" clause, correct?

Actually, the owner of the '96 Firehawk and the '93 Z28 doesn't mind. The Firehawk has 400 rwhp and a drop top, while the Z28 has 606 hp at the crank. :bounce: :3gears: The sedan delivery has no engine, as the entire car is being rebuilt after a nasty engine fire.
I ask them to leave me the keys so I can move them around if I have to. If there is no insurance and no permission, they don't leave the drieway.
It is a nice perk of storing the cars. ;)
