I am just wondering what everbodys opinion on a spellchecker would be for the site. I think it would be great to have so we dont always have misspells and grammer errors/shortcuts. I am guilty of doing the same thing spelling stuff wrong leaving out a letter or abreaviating words, but I think it would make the site seem more profesional and tidy if there are less spelling mistakes it would also make reading posts alot easier. I am sure it would not be too hard to add to the site if others see the need anyways just a suggestion thanks

There is a spell checker!

See that little icon in the upper right hand side of the text editor? Has a little "ABC" and a check by it... Click that!

I never noticed that before I had just looked at the icons right above the text box  anyways it wont work for me it says I need to install some program to run in the background? So I'll just have to watch my spelling thanks for pointing that out ryan

That spell checker only works with IE to the best of my knowledge. I've downloaded one for FireFox that works great but it's a right click activated checker. It does have a flag as you type feature.

It's called Spell Bound and it's a development version. I think I downloaded it from Mozilla.org. You do have to pick a dictionary and install it in order for it to work. It works well, I use it daily.

An advantage of Mac OSX - built in spell checker in the OS so you always have a spell checker in any program...

Actually, that is pretty funny!

Not to take this thread off on a completely different tangent, but I have to say that the reason I have a Mac at home is pretty much from having to fight PCs all day at work. I'll take a Unix core over a DOS core any day of the week and twice on Sundays! It just does what I need it to do...

as you all know I'm in the graphic industry ( newspaper ) and on the maintenance part of it, so were use pc based software ( mac software is a little scarce in this area ) and the graphic artists are staunch mac fan's (go figure..lol ) so we get in to it all the time
