Who makes husky boxes?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think Husky and craftsman are made by the same company. We had a new Home Depot open here, and some of the wrench sets they received were Craftsman. It could be a coincidence though.

I beleive Craftsman are now made by Danaher. There have been acquisitions and mergers in the tool business though. Here's a quick overview:

Husky boxes are made by stanley, as are most of the hand tools, except the cheap crap made in china for HD. Screwdrivers are western forge, and air tools are florida pneumatic.

The thing that’s nice about the Husky Pro boxes is how the slides attach to each drawer. Instead of having a little wimpy rivet taking all the weight, they slides clip into the drawers so that all the weight isn’t on a little fastener. My father is really interested into their large pro box combo.

Probably Stanley, and for the record pretty much all of the Husky branded hand tools are made offshore by Stanley.

If Stanley makes it, you can be sure it is made "offshore".

After looking at the local Husky boxes at my local box store I am 100% sure they are not made by Waterloo (They make all Craftsman boxes).

If there is no Made in USA or anything to insinuate that it was made even in North America (Some Snap on Tool Cabs are made in Canada and are of fine construction), then I would leave it.

But if price were truly a consideration, I would go to Harbor Freight and look at their boxes. HF boxes were constructed much better than these "Huskys".

Craftsman now has a imported box line, that starts with the prefix 506 (from memory). I don't know if those are Waterloo, as that prefix, used to be columbia (now part of Wilton) as in vises.

HF boxes were constructed much better than these "Huskys".

Every HF box I've looked at has been thin enough I could see through it if I had a large enough flashlight...

I have compared both, and would choose a husky pro any day over a hf special... For one, the "front lip" on the husky pro top box is on the hinged lid, making it much easier to see your sockets. HF's does seem to have the same way of attaching the slides to the drawers, which is nice (no rivets). But the HF also have the krinkle finish... Where as with the husky pro you get a choice of gloss red or gloss black.
