Does anyone on this forum have or use the Dewalt 18v impact wrench? There are two models, one is listed at 300ft lbs., that is what I'm interested in. The guys here at the dealership all have 18v Snap On impact wrenches, and they work great for just about everything ( especially lug bolts on VW's), but I have all Dewalt 18v tools and I don't want another battery to deal with. Soooo, do they work- well, or just so-so?

Is the 18v Dewalt you're looking at the impact wrench or just an impact driver? Two different tools. The driver isn't gonna cut it as an impact wrench. Do a search on here. I remember a post about this a week or two ago.

I've got the 300 ft./lb. rated model and it works fine on lug nuts on Ford trucks that are torqued to 150 ft./lbs. I haven't tried it beyond that.

It's definately the impact wrench, Dewalt also has a 137 ft. lb rated unit that is probably useless, but there is a relatively new model ( I think) that has a 300 lb rating, possibly model# DW059?. It would be nice if they published ratings for foward and reverse torque specs. Who ever really needs a 1/2 in drive impact wrench, either air or battery, that can torque a fastener to more than 150 -200 ft. lbs. Anything more than that should be using a 3/4 drive IMO.

It's definately the impact wrench, not the driver. I think the model # is DW059.
