Puma Compressor? Need opinions.

I'm looking at purchasing a Puma Air compressor for my local Fleet Farm.
It looks pretty good I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything

They seem to be pretty honest with specs and for the price of $338 it seems like a pretty good deal. Am I missing anything?

The specs read like this:

110v/220v motor. Wired for 110v
5hp peak/2hp average
20 Gallon tank
Twin cylinder compressor
Cast Iron compressor housing
150PSI max pressure

7.1cu @ 40PSI
5.5cu @ 90PSI

I would go for something bigger, 5.5CFM will run a impact gun or a air ratchet but that's about it.

What's your target use?

Airing up tires and occasionally running an impact gun, that's fine.
If you plan to own air powered sanders, grinders, cutoff tools, or moderately heavy impact use... I hope you don't mind running for 30 seconds and waiting 3-5 minutes for the tank to refill.

And don't even think about painting with that compressor. ;)

Remember, no matter what the sticker says, a 15A 110-volt outlet is limited to a 2-2.5 horse motor. Anything else would never run without tripping the circuit breaker. There's only ONE spec. that matters, and that makes a good comparison for compressor: How many CFM it delivers at 90PSI, where you'll run your tools. The last thing you want to look at is the HP rating, because it's always a lie. ;)

I am considering the same one because I doubt that I will ever be able to get 240v in my garage. If I was going to buy another 110v compressor today, it would be taht one.

Marginal size, You need more power!

I'm renting a place right now otherwise I would totally wire 220v into my garage. I think the puma pump will make the most use out of 110v plus its at least movable since I plan on a few more moves before buying a house.

It will be pretty much for a impact wrench and a few other air tools. If I paint with it, I'll make sure to get a small gun with low air comsumption.

I would like to use a gravity feed sand blast gun with it. I think it will run that with some pauses.

Whoa!!!! $550 is WAY too much for that compressor! I can get the same unit from a local tool supply place (that also services all makes of compressors) for about $379. You might wanna check around....
