what do "the fairlaneman is invisable" mean written under my name mean?

Invisible mode allows you to browse the forums without appearing in the 'Currently Active Users' lists.
If you want to change it, click on User CP at the top of the page, click on edit options, and you'll see an "invisible" box, just remove the X from the box.

It means that you will always appear offline, even when you're logged into the forum.
