Someone asked for pics of my garage and some of my junk, so I snapped some shots today. My garage is pretty basic - what I can afford, lol! But, it's mine. Anyway, here's the state of things today:

And a shot of one of my boxes:

And a shot of my tool cart:

And that's really all there is. Nothing fancy... I just keep reorganizing mostly the same stuff!

Your garage looks normal to me, just like mine. Didn't see any junk as you stated though
LOOKS GOOD

I like what you've done with the place! Thats a pretty cool set-up for the screwdrivers in your tool cart. Did it come that way or did you add that feature?

eschoendorff, It looks like a very usable space. I am jealous.
Judging by the amount of tools you buy, I would have expected a lot more tool storage, though...just an observation.
I expect that you keep the pinching tools somewhere else...:pimpflash

Yep... I've got crap stashed everywhere. I also have a box in the hose that has some stuff in it...
For pinching, sometimes I just use my fingers :bounce:
And Rickster... the tool cart came like that. i got it from my FIL. It originally had a K-Tool sticker on it.

My wife had a '72 Ford Pinto when we met. It had the 2000cc "German" engine. We took a trip and let her brother borrow the car. When we came home, it had a blown head gasket. The head bolts were 12mm triple square. I bought a socket from the Snap-On guy for about $50. I fixed the head and the driver laid in my toolbox for years. One day he called me because someone else needed one and they were on backorder. The price had also gone up in the time since I had bought it.
I made $20 on that socket...

haha thats awesome
Ed, the garage reminds me of mine. I like it. The new garages are nice, but older garages have the chartacter, you know?
Also, do you know where I can get a tool cart similar to that one? I like the way you have it set up.

My Father in Law got that cart for me from a local tool supplier... it was badged "K-Tool International" and it was a Christmas gift. It just worked out really well. This one (from outward appearance) seems to be identical:

It was kind of a PITA to assemble, though.... and DEFINITELY not made here....
Deafautotech: I will attempt damn near anything in my garage (wife will attest to that, lol!!!!). I have an acquaintance (sings in a church choir that I direct) that owns an autoshop less than a mile from me that I can go to if I get into real trouble...

Garage looks A+ good.
I also have more tools then fancy storage. I have a couple cheap Craftsman rollaways, plus two desks I store tools in too, plus several cheap tool boxes under one of my work benches.
What kind of bench vise have you got? It looks like a Kobalt.

Actually, there are two. I have a Chinese Wilton on the right and a USA made Parker to the immediate left.

I missed the one on the left, but I see it now. How do you like the Wilton?
Also, how do you keep the breaker bar positioned in the lid of the top chest when it's closed?

The lid never closes. I just stuck it there 'cause I didn't really know what else to do with it :bounce:
I like the Wilton well enough. It was about $50 at Home Depot, and the thing I like about it is that it rotates on 2 axis and if you spin the head over, it has provisions for holding pipe. The metal is a little soft, though. Don't go thinking taht the anvil is going to hold up. Oh, and the paint likes to flake. But, all in all, it is one of the better of its kind that I have seen.

Very efficient use of space. I like it. Just because it’s not fancy with glitter and gold doesn't make it a bad garage. I would feel very proud of that nice man space.

Have you really hammered on it yet? Id be curious to know how it holds up. I may be looking for a smaller sized vise that will still stand up to hammering.

A little... I don't think it will hold up as well as a USA made vise, but for $50 I can replace it in 5-10 years....
