Does anybody know what happened to ProTec? They made Fiberglass lined sockets for working on things that can be easily scratched like expensive wheels, powder coated screws/nuts, etc ...

Not sure about them but I know Mac is now making a line of tools that are lined for work on chrome/aluminum fittings, etc.

This is the first I have heard of that brand, but I know a few companies now sell these. Matco and Snap on, Under the blue point Name I believe.

I have the Snap on (Bluepoint) composite sockets now; for the 1/2 21 mm socket, the maximum torque is 120 ft. lbs; the ProTec socket for same size was 200 ft. lbs ... just an observation ..

On Snap-on's site they sell them as 3/8 drive and 1/2

In 3/8 drive there is a wider selection of sizes in standard and metric....I am interested in these....only problem is they dont sell them in a set...only individual

Snap On used to sell them as a set; I purchase mine as a set; the metric set number is 212FSMPTY and the SAE set number is 209FSPTY.
