The construction phase of my garage remodel is done. We have a 20x23 attached garage in a house that was built in 1964. Drywall and paint are done. While that was being done, I decided to replace the original wood doors with some basic white metal doors which improved both the outside and inside look immensely. Previously, there were about a half dozen old fluorescent fixtures scattered around the ceiling. I had those replaced with 5 of the diamond plate fluorescents from Home Depot that my guys hard-wired in rather than plug in. Also, there is a recessed can over one of my tool boxes and a large fixture directly over the work bench. Attached are some "before" and "after" pictures.
Next up, Race Deck flooring. Probably about a month away.

Quite a difference from before and after. :eyecrazy:
Did you make that diamond plate workbench? That thing is bad ass!

The bench actually belonged to my father-in-law and was built in the early 60's. I started looking at what was available commercially and nothing came close to the solidness of what I already had so I bought some gray gloss paint and found a guy on eBay that sells diamond plate and will cut and bend to your specification. I put a back splash on it, used some masonite to enclose the sides and redid the "floor" underneath. It turned out better than I had hoped. I got the idea when I was watching "Trucks" on a Sunday. They have diamond plate work surfaces and I thought it looked pretty good.

Looks Great!!! As different as day and night   Just as soon as it warms up a little more around here and I get a good weekend I am starting on our house garage. Although not too bad at the moment it needs some serious auto upgrades. :rocker:
