sounds like a good deal ... so what about spline drive? what do you think?

i am stay away from spline drive because i already spent on lot of tools that good for me to work on it so i dont need spline drive. no reason to waste of money if dont need to use or just leftover it....

I was very tempted to order that set......with my wifes Passat....these and Ribe drive set from OTC are notching up slowly up the latter of must haves

I bought s spline set that came with allen and torxa bits that you can put on a 3/8" or 1/2" socket for a few bucks

I saw that ad.. sounded really great .. does 6 point, 12 point, square, spline, and everything else in between; not sure how strong it is; the walls on the socket looked pretty thin .. :)

I bought the spline drive rachet wrenches,the few times I used them,they worked fine.
Mostly on inverted Torx on new Saabs,The engineers must dream up new fastners to seperate us from our paychecks!

Wow - That looks really neat. I travel with tools for work, and these seem like they would be both a huge space and time saver in the field.

A set of spline drive sockets would cover 6 point, 8 point, 12 point, and etorx. Wow. If anyone has real world experience with these PLEASE chime in... I'm kind of excited about this, but seems almost too good to be true.

They do not do 8 point/square nuts.

Good set to have around. I had never used an inverted torx until last week and had to run around to get a set. The studs for the clutch slave on a 1989corvette.

I went ahead and ordered a set last night. I will probably get them Friday or Monday. I think they must be fairley new in the tool market. All my sockets are 6 point so I figured they will work for me in place of buying a 12 point set.

I'll let ya'll know what I think about them when I try them out.

My Snap On dealer had a set of these on display on his truck. He told me that the snap on spline drive sockets were intended specifically for spline fasteners, not as multi use deals like these.

I asked him what he thought of these and he told me flat out that you cant deliver as much torque to a 12pt fastener with these as you can with a 12pt socket. Also, the walls on these things are pretty thin.

On another note, these sockets looked very nice. Even the INSIDE of the ones he had looked good. I only looked at a few but ya know. Of course, he had to get his little snap on dealer bit in there and say "With SK, you really get what you pay for" haha

I'm waiting to get some feedback on these.. I'm sure the 1/2 off (or better) deal is a promo to get them out into the market. I don't think I'd ditch my 6 and 12pt stuff in favor of these but they could come in handy.

i just got a set today from my sk dealer haven't tried them out yet though
