I have had it with cheap travel bags. My job requires me to travel quite a bit and I can not get more than a year of use from a bag before the zippers or straps break.
Just looking for any insight on a quality, usa made bag. I have one in mind from redoxx but it is quite expensive. http://www.redoxx.com/Expedition-Duffel-Bags/Big-Oxx-Expedition-Series/91024-Big%20Oxx/140/Product

Bass Pro Shops has a line of bags in their Redhead line that have served me well. I don't travel a bunch but when I do I usually carry a lot of gear. The biggest one my 20Y/O daughter climbed in and zipped it shut.

This one may suit your needs and if the construction is on par with their other stuff it should last.

I use a cheap duffle type bag.....black nylon....I can usually get a couple weeks travel out of it...(depending on what I'm doing). I find that the cheaper it looks, the less likely someone will go into it to steel your stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if those busted zippers were not caused by pilfers.....

Pelican case! Get the carry on version and it'll last for many years with a lifetime warranty, and it's made in USA

Had the same issue with cheap bags, not lasting. I use to be a road warrior, traveling five to six days a week for approx five years. My second year I bit the bullet as they say, and bought a “Travel Pro” hard side roll-a aboard. After being on the road with it for four plus years and five more years of personal use the case has some wear, but is not ready to be replaced. My son got the same roll a board for his birthday four years ago and still has it. When we needed to replace my wife luggage we again went with “Travel Pro”.

I think the thing to do is look around at what the airline crews use. At the time I bought mine the airlines crews were using “Travel Pro” almost exclusively. If I needed to replace the luggage again I’d look to see what the airline crews are using.

I travel for a living, I live outta my bags for MONTHS at a time in and beat the living shit outta my bags, they are in and out of the back of the tuck (open part most of the time not the cab) all the time, airlines, Amtrak you name it.

OP I have not tried the Big ox ones. The thing that has me the most concerned on them is the Plastic buckles on the straps.

I use Filson large duffel's they have more simple and classic styling, all canvas, brass and leather. But they are very tough and I have yet to destroy one. they are about 100 bucks more than the OX. Yes made in the USA also
