Hey guys, like it says above I am in for a great day. I am trying "flesh"out my mechanics tools a little better and decided that the 400 dollars would be best spent on more specialty tools and things I normally wouldn't buy. Here are a couple of things I am pretty sure I am going to get. I want to try some kobalt stuff, it seems like pretty nice stuff and I a dont like the direction cman is going with thier exchange policy.
SO SPEND MY MONEY FOR ME AND GIVE ME SOME IDEAS!
sae and metric gear wrenches
3/8" long handle flex head ratchet
Thru-Ratchet Set11142
11143
11144
Extension, adapter and swivel set

I have that long handled flex head ratchet and for the money, it is great. Works just as well as my $100 MAC version. The "thru-ratchet" sets are nice, but I use them once in a blue moon. Definitely not a go-to tool. The Gear wrenches are probably the most useful thing on your list. Get the reversible ones.

Thanks, are the gear wrenches lifetime warranty? I see them at both lowes and Sears, what is the exchange policy if one breaks?

My opinion? G-i-m-m-i-c-k.
Structurally unsound, painful to pull on, and you should not often be pushing a wrench. My 2¢.

That's what I am looking for, what about a good set of stubby ratchets?

You can warranty the GearWrenches at NAPA. I've done it many times, no questions asked.

I bought the following:
reversible gear wrenches in both standard and metric
Cman pro stubby wrenches in both standard and metric
3/8" Kobalt long handle flex head ratchet
(which is very nice for the money $30)
3/8" double flex head Husky ratchet (again nice for the 20 bucks)
El Cheapo Companion nut drivers in both standard and metric (my nut drivers dont get heavy use and I wanted a complete set around)
3/8" ratchet accesory set
1/2" ratchet accesory set
A set of decent but very cheap adj. wrenches from HF for my junkyard tool bag
And I still have 125 bucks left:thumbup:

Got the same ratchet, love it. The head is the same as my father's Craftsman 3/8 in. Drive Ratchet Stubby Flex. He also has a Snap-On 3/8 flex, which I have broke and like just as much...
I think that Kobalt is a GREAT deal.
