The walls under the attic storage trusses are 10' 8". 9' sidewalls and 20" of stemwall block. The peak in the lift area is a little over 18'.

My garage build in the sig shows what you are talking about. It is 20" above the slab. The stem walls were built first and the slab poured inside them. You can see how it went together from the pics.

Just to update this thread.

I went back to GSE after looking closer at Bendpak lifts to make the final comparison. I ended up getting a Bendpak 9Xw and couldn't be happier about the decision....

You all are probably right I will end up with one as well. I have been looking on line but I need to go to the local hobby shop. The Traxxas stuff is pricey but then again an ipod touch is now $300....
