Re: Lets see your workbench

Here's mine I put together a few months ago. It's the 2x4 Basics kit finished in an amber stain. The Cobra is now powder coated flat black.

Re: Drilling concrete

Like others have said, the included Tapcon bits are garbage. Try the Vermont American drill bits. They are a chrome-like finish bit in a red package, like this, (click)...

Re: After waiting for something different...

I did some digging. I can't seem to find anything about the shop, but I did find a link to some of their work. Some very talented dudes!

Re: After waiting for something different...

I didn't pay attention to the post dates until I saw the bump post. I'm very interested in an update as well, but he hasn't been on this site in 2 years, so I won't hold my breath. I'm mostly curious...

Re: How to wash a large car cover??

Laundromat is your best bet. In fact, this reminds me that I need to take mine to one as well.

Re: New Garage in Cold Florida 25 x 36

MLB is on the coast. After the 2004 hurricane season, much of the state adopted code similar to South Florida. Block construction is pretty much the norm for new construction.

Re: Budget remodel

I like the accent wall and love the Z06! I don't recall seeing very many garages with ceilings that follow the pitch of the roof like that.

Re: HOA says no storage shed...now what?

Some good ideas thus far. Like others have mentioned, read the CCRs and focus on the area between the lines.

HOAs are not pure evil. My tiny neighborhood has an HOA, but they enforce nothing, so,...

Re: Cooling the Garage... who cares about heating it?

That's what I was wondering. I've heard conflicting information about insulating a garage without A/C. Some say it keeps the heat out, but others will tell you it actually bottles in the heat and...

Re: Parking in the living room

Ridiculous! Some people live their lives to catch other people "breaking" rules. They don themselves the enforcers when they possess no actual authority. It has nothing to do with appearance,...

Re: Hanging stuff on cement block walls without drilling holes.

Why are you opposed to drilling into the block?

Re: What do you guys do for a garage sound system..??

Right now, I have a Bose Wave Radio out there. I have a couple in-ceiling speakers sitting around, so I think I'm going to install those and get a cheap subwoofer and receiver.

The garage is ridiculously nice, but I'm in awe of the car! I love it. Stunning!

Re: Built a 'crane' for my Heavy Bag...

Very nice! I have a wall mount for my heavy bag that has a 4' arm that allows it to swing in and out that I paid too much money for, but it was my only option. How does your bag lock into place when...

Re: Is there a magical number?

It's the sad truth. I started with 2, then 4, and now I want 8. I don't know if there is such thing as too much light. I was actually trying to figure out if I could mount some on the wall to get...

Re: Is there a magical number?

I have four 4' double bulbs in my 20x20 garage. Ample light, but I want/need more. I'm thinking another 4 fixtures aimed more in between the cars. With that said, I would think 6 of those 8-footers...

Re: Gladiator Wall cabinet on clearance at lowes

I bought 5 early today. Went to another Lowe's 3 hours later and they were $59. I showed them the $29 receipt and they wouldn't price match. Gave me some bs about inventory, then I explained to them...

Re: Build a better workbench

I have the adjustable shelving unit in my garage as well. You just can't beat it for $75. I've often thought of enclosing the front and sides of it for a cleaner look. I guess I just need to figure...

Re: Detail Supplies

I really like Poorboy's products. I prefer sealants to wax as they last longer and can be better layered. After polishing, I usually use Poorboy's EX-P and sometimes top with a carnauba like Natty's...

Re: Before and After

It snaps together like all the other modular floors. Compared to rolling the POR-15 on, the tile was a joke. It took me like an hour once I had everything laid out.

Here's a shot of a sample tile...

Re: Before and After

It started as POR-15 Floor Armor, but it failed under wet hot tires. Chris and Dave at POR-15 Depot refunded the money, so I put that towards creating the parking pad. I used Sport Court Daytona...

Before and After

So I've essentially finished my garage. I still plan on building a couple racks to hold my spray cans and detailing stuff to make it more accessible. I'll probably eventually build a work bench as...

Re: How Do You Organize All Your Aerosol Cans??

That's a great idea!!! I think I might build a couple of those. One for cans and one for the ridiculous amount of detailing products I own.

What did you use to secure it to the wall??
