Re: Security Cameras....what do you think of this?

The way I understood the article the purpose of registration is so they know who to ask to volunteer footage. I don't have security cameras nor do I live in an area where crime is a common occurrence...

Hello Everyone,

I'm planning to add on to the current barn/shop.

The original barn was built about 12 years ago and is roughly 26'x40' with 12' sidewalls. The roof pitch is 4-12.

I want...

Re: The work you pay or would pay someone to do if.......

Drywall finishing is the only job I absolutely will not do. I'll hang drywall (although far from my favorite job) but I can't stand to spend days finishing it just to end up with a job that looks...

Re: Sweet New Pocket Tool

I didn't intend to bash the widget.

I actually think you said it best in the opening post. "It's a nice piece of art".

This is a tool forum, I think most people here appreciate quality and...

Re: Sweet New Pocket Tool

It's cute and I wouldn't mind having one but IMO it looks closer to a piece of swag I'd pickup at a trade show than a tool I'd shell out $45 for.

Granted as a piece of swag I'd expect it to be...

Re: How mad should I be at an honest mistake by the GF

No harm no foul. Life's too short to be upset about what hasn't happened.

Tell her you noticed, ask her to try to be more careful and leave it at that.

Re: Looking for a source for scale background grids for pictures.

All you need is a piece of white board, a sharpie, and a straight edge.

Just like making a white board chart, just different line spacing.

Re: Serpentine belt replacement

You have to unbolt the motor mount to replace that belt.

No big deal, just support the engine with a floor jack so the mount isn't under any stress.

Heck, living in CNY the hardest part of...

Can anyone estimate what this would be worth as scrap? I was selling it on...

Re: Irrigating large area

If the water is only down 11' I would look for a 2" pump and drop a suction line down the casing. You won't get much done with 7-10GPM, with an increase in flow your problem becomes exponentially...

Re: Irrigating large area

Do you have surface water you can draw from? If not I'm not sure what good an irrigation pump will do you as you'll still be limited by the capacity of your well.

If your well is like our old one...

Re: Irrigating large area

What is your water flow?

You'll either need lots of water or lots of sprinklers to irrigate that large of an area.

If my math is correct a 6500 square foot sprinkler should throw a pattern...

V-blocks come in various grades (accuracy). They can all be used for workholding but some of the more expensive more accurate sets are sold more for inspection purposes.

Re: Bolens Eliminator Garden Tractor

There's no better time than the present to learn how to tow a trailer. Go down to your local rental yard and rent the longest trailer your truck can pull (it will pull nice and be easier to backup)....

Re: wipe an old laptop to dispose of it ?

If you don't use epoxy to seal the holes you drilled through the drive your sensitive data can fall through the holes and be stolen.

You've heard of "security holes" right?
