Re: code for led lighting micro transformers

The backwards "UR" indicates that it is a UL Recognized device. It is intended to be part of another product. Without reading the report, you can't look at the component and determine what has been...

Re: code for led lighting micro transformers

A CE mark on a lighting product most likely means that the manufacturer has self-declared that the product meets a European based standard. (Which standard???)

Does this chinese company have a...

Re: What about those pocket sized jumper boxes?

They're using lithium batteries, which can safely dump a lot of current really fast. From what I've read, they're not going to jump start a car that has a completely dead battery, but they'll start...

Re: Why would a Battery Tender Junior not be sold in California?

Or alternatively, acknowledge that this technology allows a very large portion of the U.S. to work from home. A population working from home would have a huge impact on our petroleum usage. Yet we...

Re: Why would a Battery Tender Junior not be sold in California?

Here is my problem with this law. The consumers don't care. The fact that California has to enact a law to address Vampire Loads (again, I agree 100% that they SHOULD be addressed), is where the...

Re: Why would a Battery Tender Junior not be sold in California?

I can't say that, but I am less than the current average. My next house will be smaller. (not including the garage, of course.)

Re: Why would a Battery Tender Junior not be sold in California?

There's your upfront cost and also the environmental cost of replacing a large working appliance with a new large appliance that is only slightly more efficient, so it doesn't necessarily benefit...

Re: Why would a Battery Tender Junior not be sold in California?

The average US house uses 903,000 wh per month. a 1w vampire load consumes 720 wh per month.

Some would argue that discussing vampire loads, while we insist on watching TV on a 60" screen in a 70...

Re: Why would a Battery Tender Junior not be sold in California?

To be fair, vampire loads are also "rounding errors" in relation to how much energy we use in general.

So, if going after one rounding error is a good thing, we might as well go after the next...

Re: The USA made conundrum...

There is a point to buying old product. It beats letting it go to the landfill. No point in using our resources to make a new one, when an old one is perfectly fine.

Re: Anyone using a Fahrenheat FUH724 240-volt Garage Heater

I have one in a 24x26 garage. Walls and door are insulated, the ceiling is not. On a 35 degree day it can get the garage up to 65 degrees but it takes about two hours to get it that high.

I...

I've been meaning to ask you this, and this pretty much opens the door for the question. I've been thinking about picking up an old 60's mustang for a toy, that would see similar duty to what you do...

If I were a lineman, with the availability of...
