The blocks look like they have had moisture coming through. I would coat them with a moisture sealing product if you cover with OSB or not.

I have my wood tools on wheels & stored in a shed with concrete drive conecting them. My band saw is a metal/wood with a gear box. A place for everything & everything in its place!

The other thing I heard (on the internet, so it must be true) is zinc is not as important once the cam & lifters are properly broken in. Hope this is true as my 67 Chevelle has a flat tappet lifter....
