Before I continue my rant I have to say one thing, Abstamaria, Beautiful car and bike. Any 916,996,998,748 is a work of art. They don't get voted motorcycle of the decade for no good reason.
Guess I am just old and I know I hate anything trendy. Before it was buzzword it was the garage, the barn, the shed, the shop, etc. First and formost it was where things got done. To my grandfather, it was where he built several tractors, wagons, pumps, go karts and a lone mini bike. He repaired small motors, welded parts for people and invented. It was my favorite place as a kid. To my father, it was a place to keep his tools, house the family car, work on the family car/truck/station wagon that he had to keep running to get back and forth to work to support his family. Fix washing machines, driers, faucets, bicycles, mowers, toys etc. Only picture on wall was a calender from when before I was born with a woman,(fully clothed),on it. The rest of the walls were covered with rope, chain, block and tackle sets, old parts and anything else that might be useful again someday. |

I can't stand the term man cave as well. Ever since a few years ago my wife and kid and I were boating in Lake Havasu Az. we were in a cove hanging out with like minded hot boaters (so I thought), when this dude (I use the term loosely) said with that lisp that is stereo-typical "nobody is aloud in my "mancave" unless the do something special for me". A little giggle came out, and we were gone.
My garage is clean, I have an epoxied floor, I have a fridge full of beer, and beer mirrors and pictures on my walls, oh ya I have a computer and a 52" T.V. My welders and fab equipment is stored in the back room untill needed. I don't have my camera out here with me to show you the powersteering leak my rockcrawler has. I appiciate everyones garage/ work space but if you spend more then 3 minutes looking for a tool you need to clean up! Don't mean to offend, just my opinion.

No oil stains in sight, no welders, mighty classy looking cabinets, sofas … I would have let those pass. But a last-of-the-series Ducati 748R with titanium rods, Marchesini wheels, Termignoni carbon-fiber silencers …! No self-respecting Real Man would be caught with one of those!
[deleted] This has got to be a woman cave. Now back to REAL man caves. Not your typical “budwiser chick,” this one. Last edited by abstamaria; 03-13-2012 at 09:43 AM. |

Ok, I understand why you would blur your wife's face, but why is the rest of the picture blury?

Not my wife, 87handmedown. Bad phone photo, and I also needed to blur some things there. That's the woman's "cave" and her Ducati. I think that's the loveliest Ducati ever made.
I felt guilty about posting that photo. It was not my place nor my bike and had no permission to post it. The fact that there was a Ducati in a woman's office was such a counterpoint to the Gasjockey's mandatory Harley. Anyway, I felt I was violating confidences and so have deleted it. This one, taken about five years ago, I can post. My bike and car - both gone now – and my garage. No man cave this one, unfortunately.
