Built this parts washer in 1988, just updated it with a new backsplash and
four 50-watt track lights.
Its made with recycled steel from a cement block plant.
The backsplash is a backplate from an electrical enclosure.
Originally this thing had a gear pump, that was housed in the "wart", on the side of the washer, but after a few years it quit working.
It now has a Little Giant submersible pump.
It holds around 18 Gallons of fluid and is 18 X 26 in size.
(the size of the old cement block plates did not cut them.)
Legs are made from 3x3 square tube.
Casters are all steel, so they won't get flat spots from sitting in one place.
Shot of the newly completed backsplash.
Would you believe that the backsplash is painted with the same gallon of paint
I used in 1988. It was all "crusted" over, on top, but was fine underneath.
Control panel was updated with two new toggle switches.
Used to have an Allen-Bradley lighted push-pull switch, in the center,
now has aluminum over the old 1-7/32" hole.
A shot with the doors closed.
Never have to worry about a fire burning through this washer
as the doors are 5/16" thick.
The combination, door stops/handles work well.
Here is the backside.
Fluid is kerosene.
All for now,
-John
