Due to numerous family catastrophic driving practices, I find myself in need of some wheel dollies due to a broken tie rod on one vehicle and frozen rear disks on another...
I looked at Harbor freight and the only one that even remotely impressed me was 1250 Lb. Capacity Mechanical Wheel Dolly Item #67287. Anyone have a better suggestion? |

How often do you need it? If only occasionally...
Check U-haul rentals?

I've got 67338 for the one car that is being worked on now. I can't say I have a big issue with them.

If it's just to move a car with a broken tie rod just have some body help by kicking the wheels in the direction you want to go and for the frozen brake just use a floor jack to lift that corner of the car and roll it around. If you really want dollies you really should have at least 2 so I would go with the 67511 or 67338, the 67338 seem to be the best deal right now on sale. If you don't already have a floor jack the money you save by buying these would pay for a floor jack.

I have two sets of these:
http://www.harborfreight.com/2-piece...ies-67511.html The heaviest car I have set on them and pushed around is a Saturn, so I don't know how they work for a '67 Impala, but they serve me well. I have a couple of tractors sitting on them.

Put me down as a fan of GoJaks. They use a ratcheting mechanism to lift the wheel and then you just push. Good wheels and casters. I've got a set of 4 under my 1971 Dodge Charger and I can move it in and out and around the garage by myself.
http://www.zendextool.com/gojak/ Pricey but I found mine used on craigslist. Patrick |

+1 on GoJaks. I've the 6000# model and love them. I used them a couple of days ago to move a buddy's 1960 Oldsmobile wagon (it weighs over 4500 lbs) and was able to move it around the garage by myself. Pricey but worth it as they are a quality tool. Jim |

I have two sets of 4 one from HF, the cheap ones, and a set from Northern tools which are built stronger and have better casters on them. My vote is for the Northern tools set. Both of these are the kind that you have to use a jack to get the wheel on them
