Default 3x3 checkerboard?

Anybody have pictures of a RaceDeck or similar floor in checkerboard pattern where each square is 3tiles x 3 tiles? I find lots of 1's and 2 x 2s. My floor is 19 x 19 so 2x2 doesn't work too well...If I add two boarder rows it takes it to 15 x 15 which works out for a 3x 3 setup....It seems it might be a bit big however for a floor that is only 19'.

Sorry, I dont have any pixs but I do feel that 3'x3' squares might make the room look to small.

2'x2' would look great.

The chance of putting down an entire floor with having to cut tiles on some of the sides is fairly slim.

Another thing, even though the tiles are 1 square foot, they are actually larger with the connecting tabs.

I have never seen 3x3 tiles done either. I am sure it would still look nice, but I think it would make the area look smaller. If I was doing that size floor, I would just do a 1x1 checker, possibly with a border. On the wall with my workbenches in my shop, I did a 3 tile wide border where the workbenches sit, then 1 tile wide accent color. You know what they say about opinions though

There are really a ton of different options. The majority of people seem to do checkerboard designs, you could also come up with something else. One thing to consider to, if you don't like the pattern when it is on the floor, you can always snap it apart and do something else. If you are anything like me though, once it is down, it will stay that way.

I have three designs in mind:

3x3 checkerboard with two boarder rows
1x1 checkerboard with two boarder rows
and here
http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=46600

I just ordered the tiles and got enough of each color to do any of the designs..only a few extra, but that way I get the flexibility. I am leanint to the 1x1 or the one in the link as I think the 3x3 is too big for the size of the space. But they all will look a bit different when on the ground

When I bought mine I couldn't decide between a 2x2 or 1x1 checker. The main portion of my shop is 40'x55' so I thought the 1x1 checker may be too small, but there are alot of odd angles in my building so I figured it would make those less noticeable. I needed the same tiles either way, so I just went ahead and ordered them like you did. I decided that I was going to do the 1x1 pattern, but the tiles were shipped in 2x2 groups. I started to break a few apart and decided it wasn't worth the effort to seperate all those tiles, so I ended up with a 2x2. I am real happy with the results, but either would have looked nice.

Have you seen the RaceDeck tiles in person yet? All the colors you bought, except for the black should have a little bit of a metallic look to them. I think it makes them look alot sharper than if it was just a plain solid color.
