Selling? Just as you cleared 1000 posts too eh? Any thoughts on what will become of this thread? I know my wife and I were pretty seriously considering moving recently (decided to stay), and I had a hard time trying to figure out whether to leave the thread up if we moved (since the garage would then be someone elses property). That, or if I left it, would I merge it into the new garage.

I suppose you could start a new thread called "Dubber's Double," think of what you could do with all that space!

If it were me I'd leave a note in there for the next owner letting them know they've bought a legend, and not to mess it up

In all honesty though, all the best to you and your wife wherever you end up.

Thanks Eric for the very kind post. The whole "closing" a thread thing is something i strangely didn't even contemplate. I'll have to think on it. I guess it will also depend on what kind of garage that I end up with as well.

The deal breaker is that it has to at least be bigger than what i currently have, and more outside parking.

Gave the TDI a bath tonight, and actually remembered to pull out the camera.

I've been holding onto this decal since Munich last year. Wifey really wanted to put it on the car.

Dubber.. bro, I'm sorry to tell you.. it looks like there is just TOO MUCH shine in that TDI paint job. I'm thinking you'll have to now part with it.

Great job.. it looks really good (no shocker).

I'm an old fan of Autoglym products. I have not seen those in a while. Last time I had the wax was quite a while back. I hate to hear your selling out, such a beautiful area and place you have there. However, I know you will find just what you want. If you do move, you can do another garage easily, you have lots of experience!! I kept up with your thread all through your operations.
Best Regards

Thanks for the kind words Herb. I'm up to a challenge and excited about new possible opportunities. We shall see how it plays out.

you don't have to close the thread, just update the title "Now with 2x's more single!"

Thanks man. Not gonna lie, its a stressful process. As i'm sure i mentioned this is my first home sale, as our current place was a new build that we moved into from an apartment. I'm used to selling things online all of the time, along with flipping cars but we opted to go with a Realtor so new to me and its a little out of my hands. Just hoping our place sells quickly and at a price we are happy with. Its difficult when I find a place that i like and then seeing it sell in the meantime while we wait.

You know - I didnt realize your place was in a townhouse/condo - didnt dawn on my until I saw the outside shots of your place.

It must make all the other garages in that unit look terrible!

Nice job - love the work you've done.

I'm really hoping that it may help to put me over the edge with someones decision when comparing another unit.

We also just finished putting in Granite and Porcelain tiles in the Kitchen. Man i hope this sells quickly as i just found a place with a sweet new double garage. Going to check it out tonight.

Well i have wifey on board with the importance of a double garage We have two strong possibilities now. Snapped a couple pics of each.

The first is a former show home with two single doors.

The other is an occupied home with a double door.

I'm really not sure how to express the excitement of the possibility of getting into a bigger garage.

One of the first things that jump out to me is that they both have side windows and windows in the doors. I love how much light they let in and make them seem even larger.

Trying to weigh the pros and cons in regards to the door format. I'm currently on the fence with the merits of each. Also thinking about the side windows, anyone on here with experience just putting a frosted film on the window. I want to hide from prying eyes but still let light in. I do like the idea of not dealing with blinds.

Forgot to mention, my real estate agent is also a car guy (good for me). He helped me put my car in the double garage to get a true feel of the space. Tried to do it at the show home as well but they have some security measures in place hahaha. A small 2x4 screwed in above the door. I was sad to find that lol..

I have 2 single doors right now and had a double door at my last house. I think I like the double a little better. Mainly because if I wanted to, I could pull a car in the middle of the garage and have more room to work. With the 2 single doors you always lose space on one side unless you can manage to pull in towards the center.

Thanks for the feedback

That's exactly what i was wondering. The two door would force wifey to park over to the side which i could see as a benefit of the single doors. But the option of being able to easily pull into the middle for working/detailing would be a benefit of the double door.
