Default Wilton vises question.

I see some Wilton vises with the logo cast into the vise and other Wilton vises with a glued on printed label with Wilton printed on it. Are the printed label ones made by some other company and rebadged ? I do know places like lowes sell vises made in China with Wilton labels on them. Just wondering.

Some of the ones with the name plate are offshore, but I believe there were some USA models with a glued on nameplate.

With Wilton vises its easy. If it isn't stamped directly onto the casting, then its wasn't made here. Stickers or labels mean nothing.

I have a NOS Wilton Flip Grip vise from the 1970s that has a Wilton logo sticker in a box, but the MADE IN U.S.A and PAT. PEND. are cast on on the main body. I have seen the same vise with Wilton cast in the box.

Don't worry. It takes a while to drive over to China and pick up a new load. Give him time.

The Snap-On badged Wiltons still have all of the Wilton numbers cast into them.

That is a very good link. Yes, the Tradesman's are now being made back home and on the left side is imprinted into the casting the size of the jaws and Made in the U.S.A. Wilton discontinued their 1740, 1750, & 1760 with most of those coming from overseas. Snap on's I believe have COO imprinted on the side unlike the older Wiltons of those models.
