Default Wall off garage is leaking! Help please...

Hi All,

I have a condo with an attached garage. Yesterday night while I pulled up my car to the garage, I noticed there is a water pool on the floor and I know this can't be a good thing. The water comes between the seepage of the concrete and the dry wall and some even from the concrete itself. There was no rain for the last couple of days. On the other side of the wall is where we hook up our refrigerator and to the right is where the water heater tank is. Has anyone seen anything like this or suggestion what might be the cause?

Thank you!

Well, I'd do a careful inspection of the plumbing on the other side... Very possible the WH tank is leaking.

One of the two water sources on the other side is leaking, or the plumbing leading to them is leaking.
Find it quickly, before the interior floors are destroyed as well.
Water lines to refrigerators are notorious for developing leaks, or it's possible your water heater overflow may be discharging occasionally and the drain line may be faulty.

see if your getting water around your fridge. if so, your freezer drain might be clogged/iced over. its an easy fix. also look around your water heater for any standing water. if its more than 15 years old, it might be leaking. if neither of those are evident, do you have a water line hooked to the fridge? its unlikely, but it could be that line leaking. next inspection would be the plumbing inside the wall.

Thank you all for the suggestions. The house and the heater is fairly new (Built 2006). I will have the wife check on the refrigerator water line as we have a new one installed last week. I will post back and see what I found...

Gee, that might just be a coincidence!

So I want to post back what happened. Apparently the water pipe that feeds the fridge ice maker broke. It comes from the kitchen faucet and luckily the builder did put a switch there. In the end we replace part of the dry wall to prevent mold and the pipes. Thank you all for your suggestions!

I hope that's not a sign your water heater is beginning to split - when they go, it's a nightmare.

lol ^ No you don't have to worry about it exploding like that!

Always good to keep a note of when the Water Heater was manufactured and replace them BEFORE they start causing problems.
