Question How to Get Wax Off of Black Plastic Door Protectors?

I was Waxing my car awhile ago and got some wax on the Black Plastic Trim Door Protectors. It looks kind pretty bad. I tried rubbing it scrubbing it off, but nothing works. Any suggestions for getting it off? What should I use? Don't want to do anymore damage then I already have!

dish soap usually takes wax off really good... or Mothers makes some stuff called "Back to Black" that works pretty good.

A dry Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, just try and keep it off your paint.

I use a damp "new" micro fibre cloth dabbed in car wash concentrate.

Ding Ding Ding............post #3 is correct about the peanut butter. Leave it sit a few minutes, and wipe it off.

Griot's Garage sells a wax residue remover, too.

Rubbing alcohol.

I think it's the oil in peanut butter that makes it work...but it's messy compared to other methods like alcohol.

Peanut butter, leave it on for a few minutes, remove, then use a glass cleaner to wipe the area down.

I keep a quart of RM wax and grease remover for that. You can get it at any body shop supply. There are a few different brands.

Peanut butter may work great but it's a greasy, sticky mess to clean up afterwards.

I have had pretty good luck with Back to Black by Mother's, as others have said above.

My experience has been Back to Black last about 5 days and then the white wax reappears. The peanut butter is not near as messy to clean up ONCE as the Back to Black is when you have to reapply it more than once.

I prefer to do a job once but maybe that's just me?

Well, to me, smearing peanut butter on and then cleaning it off is about a hundred times the effort of wiping on B2B with a rag. I have no doubts that it works, but it seems like the solution is worse than the problem.

Does somebody know what it is in the peanut butter that takes off the wax? Maybe we could go straight for the active ingredient and avoid having to clean peanut butter off of our bumpers.

Might need to try Peanut Butter! Regular or Chunky? Does it do any bad damage if you get it on the paint?
