Default Anyone Heard Of Controlled Systems Miga Spot Welder

Hi All, I just purchased a used Controlled Systems Miga-Spot welder. I have never heard of the brand, but it looked pretty heavy duty and is 220V so I figured it would be fine. I tried to research the company online but couldn't find any info pertaining to this welder.

Has anyone heard of these welders, or have one. I would like more info on the controls on the front. There are a few more knobs there besides the normal wire speed and amperage. It appears to be for different weld types. Thanks,

Joe

Is that a real-live 'V' code car? Good for you if so.

While I've never owned a Chrysler product (what is it with those starters anyhow?), one car I should have aggressively gone after in days of yore was a 1970 440+6 convertible Challenger that just sat for years. I think one of the other local dudes finally picked it up for $1200.

Major downside would be to try to find any needed parts or service for it if you cannot even turn up info on it...

Hi 71sixpack;

I know this is an old thread but did you ever get any information on this welder? I just bought and identical one on Craigslist. It welds great but I would like to know what all the dials on the front do.

Thanks; Erik

Bummer. Thanks for looking at the thread. Seems the new MIG welders don't have nearly as many options as the old ones. Here's a picture of the front, anyone have any idea what the three modes are?

This thing welds like a champ. Just as strong as the Lincoln-175 I've been using and I got it for $200 on Craigslist.

The, "Wave" seems to be a mode where the wire starts and stops with the time period controlled by the two dials on the upper right. Maybe for stitching?

I have no idea what the difference between the, "O" and the "-" are. The "O" has a dial but the machine seems to weld the same regardless of how I set it.

Any ideas?

Best Regards; Erik
