On a monkey link, do you just hammer the "nubs" to form the link? Does it take heat?
Gotta repair a chain today and just picked one up, never used one before. What works best if anyone has any tricks........ And I know someone will ask, but it's repair links like this... ![]() ![]()

It now is the "weak link."
Just be sure to remember it is there when you use the chain in the future. |

If having a similar size/shape link is not important, use a chain shackle.

Only being used to mount a hook for my snowplow lift arm, so no worries on strength.
