Default Safety glasses that seal on face

Looking for recommendations on a safety glasses that seal around your eyes preventing anything from getting around the lens. First use is with my riding mower to prevent dust getting into my contact lens. Second use will be in the garage while grinding.

Saw these on horsepower tv but they seem pricey for what they are. http://www.7eye.com/AirShield-c-253/

I didn't see any statement on their web site that they are safety glasses.
They would be good for mowing , riding cycles or a convertible.

There is a brand called ESS(and others too) that makes military balistic glasses that are motorcycle style and seal to the face. They would be great for safety, also some thin profile balistic goggles would work too. You could probablly get some for less than $100.

Saw the same Horsepower episode. Do like, but the price isn't reasonable. A few years ago I discovered cheap ebay motorcycle goggles were also pretty good for safety goggles too.

Like jwhcars said, they're not certifiable safety glasses, but I don't do much that really justifies the cost of full blown bolt-off-grinder@10K-RPM-in-the-face-resistant eye wear. Although, I disagree with his second point. I don't know if I would I ever recommend mowing while riding a bicycle or driving a convertible.

Those are actually reasonably priced, would work good for keeping rust out of the eyes while working under cars too.

I like them quite a bit also, way better than the old standards. I wear them for everything and don't have to worry about positioning my head anymore or sawdust, wood chips or rust. The only thing I do not like about them is even though they are anti fog, going from really cold to warm will fog them, but this is the same with any glasses so you can't blame the glasses.

Perfect timing. I was just thinking I should get something to replace the cheapo glasses that came with some of my Dewalt tools. Thanks for the info.

I found these at safetyglasses.com.

I use them when sawing concrete paving. I wear contacts and can't tolerate dust in my eyes. A 1/4" blade on a 65 hp saw kicks out a ton of dust, but once I started wearing these my contacts stay dust free!

Wonder how swimming goggles would work for this? They defintely are close fitting and sealed.

If they have the correct ANSI rating, go for it...

and generally tinted, with a narrow field of view.

I'll second the vote for the Uvex ones that fivespdcat posted.

These are actually really good:

Is it tough to find a comfortable pair of goggles that fit over glasses, but this is one HF product I can actually recommend as my favorite now.

Wiley-X has several models that have removable face gaskets.

x2 on the wyley-X. we use them at work for those needing perscription safety glasses. I wear them using Baush & laum fog shield wipes. hot cold wet dry... always perfect vision. I replace the foam/insert about twice a year when the foam wears out. The glasses are a bit pricey with perscription but what's to cost of an eye.
