Default Just got a Snap On CT8810!

Hey guys.
I bought a Snap On CT4410 cordless 3/8" impact about 5 months ago & was never overly impressed w/ the nut busting tq (or lack thereof). So, my SO guy busted out the new CT8810 this week.... lithium ion powered..... I was hesitant until I finally got my hands on it. MEGA improvement in power over the NiCad CT4410!

Post some pics of it along with the charger and batteries. I ordered one last week. Anything you don't like about it? Does it have the same split second delay when you blip the trigger as the big half inch lithium gun has?

Sorry, can't post pics. The gun itself looks darn near identical to the 4410 w/ the exception of motor vents. Dimensionally it is the same also.
Yes, it has the same microprocessor delay as the 7850.... takes some getting used to.
I was extremely hesitant to purchase it due to it's $585 price tag but my SO guy did me right on trade in.
So far, there's nothing I dislike about it... am very impressed. It will absolutely take off fasterners that my 4410 wouldn't.

Have you tried any torque test? Tightening lug nuts to XX ft-lbs and then removing it afterwards?

Thanks, Chadster. I'm stoked to get mine. If its cut from the same cloth as the CT4410 then it'll be a great gun. I used mine daily for six years and I finally smoked the trigger switch and LED. That thing was tough. I used to get that thing so hot under hard use you couldn't touch the back lol.

GSteg-
I didn't conduct any official, proper, torque tests. I just locked a 1/2" bolt in my voice then ran a lock nut down w my Matco air gun. The Matco consistently tightens to 220 ft/lbs on the 2nd notch. My CT4410 didn't even think about taking it off so I grabbed the CT8810 & it RIPPED it right off. I'm telling ya....this thing is impressive.
My SO guy just released that he received 3 of these guns early this wk so i was one of the 1st guys locally to use one.

amlv20-sorry about the wait man....i hope you're as impressed as me when one finally makes its way to your box!

T1320T and Toolman12 were your CT4410's early models? I have two CT4410's and the produce a decent amount of torque, more so that my DeWalt 18 Volt 3/8" and my Bosch 18 Volt LiIon impact wrenches do.

Anxious to see what this thing is capable of. The W7150 competes with my 1/2" gun but the W5130 is not quite as powerful as my 3/8"ers. If the CT8810 can compete with the air equivalent, then it's going to be hard for me not to make an early Christmas present to myself.

Interesting, the. That would mean this new CT8810 must be a monster. I would love to know what that actual voltage the LiIon battery is putting out and take a few measurements with a good meter on the motor to see if the new model is producing more torque because the motor is spinning faster or can the battery and motor process a higher current throughput.

By any chance is the new one brushless?

Something else that I forgot to mention....the 8810 is 18v, so I'm sure that contributes to its big power.

I would be interested if somebody who uses the 18 volt battery on the 4410 could do a comparison to the 8810. The 4410 really wakes up with the 18 volt battery.

Matt-
Near central IN.
My SO guy & I talked about an 18v LiIon 3/8" gun for the last few months & he didn't have any word about it.......until this wk when he posted its arrival on Facebook. He didn't push the 8810 too hard, that's not his style. But, we worked a deal where I walked off the truck w a 7850 & the 8810

I have no proof but I think this is what caused the death of my CT4410's trigger switch. I started using my 18V batteries on it about a month or so ago and it did wake up a lot but now it's DOA. Could just be that it's six years old and used hard but........
It's interesting to note that upon disassembly for repairs the switch says embossed in it "12-24V DC" so I don't know but it's awfully coincidental it shit the bed soon after using 18V batteries on it regularly.

I' e been told by two other CT4410 users who started using the 18V batteries that their LED's burned out within the first week of changing to those batteries.

One major factor towards the higher torque.
