Default 2 Car Garage in Oceanside CA

FINALLY Getting around to making over my 2 car garage in Oceanside California.

My wife and I moved here from Colorado a few years ago. We rented a small place for a bit and started looking for a house once we finally sold our place back in Colorado.

Here is my old garage back in Colorado. HP Spartacote floor and Seville Classics Cabinets and workbench.

Our previous house in Colorado. This was a detached 2 car that never housed any cars. Just toys

The garage when we first moved to California. We rented a small beach house in downtown Oceanside.

And here is what we are starting out with today. We moved into the house in January and the garage has been mainly used to store all our stuff as we got organized. We've had one garage sale (next one is on Aug 31st) and I've sold a ton of stuff on craigslist.

The plan so right now:
- Epoxy Floor or maybe tiles
- Harbor Freight 56inch tool box
- Paint the existing cabinets
- Wall Organization
- Replace the back door with an actual glass door
- Clean up some of the electrical
- Paint the walls
+ more to come

Good luck with the garage...from the looks of your previous ones, I'm sure this one will turn out great. How come you didn't bring the snow mobiles to Cali?

What actually brings you to Cali? I'm trying to get the hell out! I guess at least you're in the nice part of cali...not Socal but San Diego county.

Nice F Sport GS! I hope they release a GS-F then maybe I'll look at upgrading.

Ordered samples of Racedeck Free Flow, Modutile Perforated, GarageFlooring Vented Grid-Loc today.

I've also had 1 epoxy flooring guy come out and have another one coming tomorrow.

Why is stuff at Harbor Freight not on sale when I want it

Very cool, I'll be keeping tabs on this for sure. And yes as per the above post nice F-Sport.

Free Flows will be amazing in there.

Thanks, I've got 2 challenging spots for the tiles that may need some grinding or leveling. I'll try to get some pics up of those spots this weekend.

Harbor Freight 56 inch tool box goes on sale this friday. I'll be sure to be picking one up

Once I get the tools organized i'll start on the back cabinet makeover and building some storage over the garage door. My old neighbor and his helper will be assisting me to make sure the job actually gets done..ha

let me know if you need help with that (I'm about 20 miles south). I've done several floors and all are holding up pretty darn well. Looks like a pretty good garage, and I like the lexus

Thanks spazegun, right now i'm leaning toward some type of free flow tile.

I'm torn between a single Harbor Freight 56 inch or two 44 inch boxes. Both are way overkill for my needs. I'm thinking the 44inch boxes will give me more built in look

No problem! I'd be game for helping out on tiling as that is what I'll probably end up doing for my garage because of its setup (stupid floor is terrible).

My vote is 44" as my full height (full of tools) box is almost unmanageable to move in/out of my trailer by a single person. But it is still very mobile on flat surfaces (in and around the garage). its small enough I can put it just about anywhere.

decided on the 44'. HF didn't have the 56" in stock so it made my decision a little easier. I'm kind of glad i went this route, it gives me a good amount of room to grow

Looks good, I have a 44 as well. Looks like your is shiny? Must be the new paint they are coming with now.

How did you like the Seville cabinets?

Were the doors very sturdy?

Thanks,
Mark

Yes, the paint is shiny. I may build a steevo type workbench out of them but that is way down the priority list.

The Seville cabinets were very sturdy and well built. The doors are flimsy but that doesn't really matter. The frame and casters were solid.

Next steps is to build a wall with closet doors in front of the existing built in cabinets. I was initially going to just paint the cabinets or reface them. In the end I didn't think it would look clean so I'm going to use three 6 ft bypass doors about one foot in front of the cabinets. This will give me a 23' deep garage and now i can hide everything behind the closet doors. It "should" in theory, kind of look like a wall. We will see.
