Default 5x7 (200 mm) LED headlights

These came on the Fedex truck today... $179.99 each from Drivetrain America. List price is $349.87

They are DOT approved 5x7 (200 mm) LED headlamps that replace 6052, 6053, H6054, and HP6054 sealed beam lamps. Jeep XJ's and pre-98 GM pickups with the W/T package used this size headlight.

Made by Truck-Lite in the USA! http://www.truck-lite.com/wcsstore/O.../27450C_NP.pdf

They use an aluminum housing and feel very hefty in your hand (Heavier than the glass sealed beams they are replacing). Overall seem to be very well made and they were packaged well so no shipping damage. Very happy with my buying experience from Drivetrain America and will probably be giving them more of my business in the future.

Before and after pics coming tonight...

Installed a set of those in a guys Cherokee the other day for him, huge difference at night.
Did have to adjust them down a little bit more than the old lights were

Put one side in... I'll get some night time comparison pics later

The old LMC halogen conversions

The new LED lamps

Just the low beam in broad daylight

I'm doubtful on LED headlights. Why? Simply because I have yet to see a set of aftermarket LED headlights that perform as well as your basic xenon HID headlights. Audi and even Acura have managed to create some decent LED OEM headlights, but the aftermarket is still scratching it's butt trying to catch up.

Ah' yes... However aftermarket HID's are illegal and obnoxious. They are for OFF-ROAD use ONLY people! Not much is more frustrating than being blinded by HID's in halogen housings. If you buy me an HID conversion I'd be happy to do a comparison for everyone These are 50 state DOT approved.

Factory installed HID projector setups are fantastic though.

We have a set of those in one of our garbage trucks and they are awsome.

Um..what? I'm not talking about aftermarket HIDs. I'm talking OEM xenon HIDs like the ones on my new Audi.

I've yet to see an aftermarket LED headlight bulb (like what you're posting about) that is anywhere near as good as an OEM xenon HID headlight.

Oh' okay... I thought you were recommending HID conversions These are different from the drop in LED bulbs if that's what you are thinking. These are a complete reflector assembly.

Yeah the modern HID's used in cars are impossible to beat for light on the road

Yeah, the kids who do their own HID conversions usually just slap an HID capsule into the reflector housing of their Civics, creating all kinds of scattered light and glare, which does little more than blind oncoming drivers.

And then they go and buy the 8000K bulb to top it off Why does everyone think blue head lights are cool? My stock sealed beams throw shadows in the beams of a lot of the Honda's with xenon bulbs.

LED lamp next to the halogen conversion... The LED washes out the halogen almost entirely More pics when I get the other light in now.

I got both sides in now... Light output is amazing and on par with projectors

Low beams throw light down the road 250 yds

... and this pic doesn't do the high beams justice as they're throwing light easily 500+ yds down the road. I can see pavement clearly 6 telephone poles out

The cut off's are very nice unlike most DOT lights and the the peripheral light is way better than with the sealed beams or halogen conversions.

You may have just convinced me not to upgrade the lights in my Malibu to Cibie housings, H4 bulbs & relays...
