Default dubber's double

FOR COLES NOTES TO THREAD PAGES SEE BELOW

Well it has finally happened! I'm officially in my new house which includes a double garage, my first! I couldn't be happier! Won't really see much progress until i can get rid of the mound of boxes and garbage bags. This forum has definitely become a part of my life so a new thread was a definite requirement.

For anyone that may have missed my first kick at the can....

Here is a link to my single garage (dubber's single) that i have just recently moved out of.
http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/s...ber%27s+single

Basic Specs:
Attached double garage, built 2012
Interior Dimensions:18'8" x 20'2"
Garage door dimensions: 16'x7'

These are pics I snapped when looking at the house before we made an offer.

First pics with the GLI in there and all the rest of the moving left overs thrown in. Sorry for the shitty Blackberry quality.

The amount of boxes you can see in the pics has increased exponentially, its mind boggling really. I was also able to move the GLI over an extra foot to the right. This still gave me enough room to walk around it which was quite thrilling.

One cool progression i've made in the garage is cable for the future TV. We had a really cool guy come to the house on Friday from our local Cable company. He installed a few extra outlets and did so at no charge! I now have cable wired into the garage and a couple extra rooms in the house. One thing off of the list

This is what one of my visions for the space would look like.

Still trying to decide if i'm going to keep, modify, or eliminate the shelf that the previous owner had left on the wall. They seem pretty sturdy but they would throw a monkey wrench into my potential layout.

Very cool, congrats on the bigger garage (and the house too). After seeing what you did with your single I'm looking forward to seeing what you're going to do here.

CONGRATS MAN!!! I know you must be excited, enjoy the extra space!. Looking forward to your progress, I would however take down the previous owners shelving, while not bad, it will prevent you from doing what you really want IMO.

Man that is a nice setup! Have you considered installing a high-lift garage door track? For some reason having a raised entry door and being so close to the garage door up height just screams for some high lift attention.

Very happy for you regarding your move, as you can imagine there might be one or two lurkers waiting to see what you do with this space...

I've been toying with the idea of doing a high-lift garage door track. I will be replacing the garage door at some point as this one isn't insulated. I'm also tempted to get the rails changed at the same time and possibly a side mounted Liftmaster 8500.

Thanks guys, happy to see there are others who share my excitement to see the progress. And thanks Alex, that's a great idea, I'll do that now.

Congrats on the double! Just look how much space you have beside your car!! I'm looking forward to seeing this one unfold. I'm guessing the PO had no idea that their garage was about to become famous .

If it were me, I'd probably just sit there in the middle of the place for a long time drinking in the new-found square footage.

Cheers, I'm in for the long run on this one.

I'm seeing greatness in the making here! You have the space, the drive and the experience to make this garage even BETTER than the last one! By using your "use every inch to your advantage" mind set, you should be able to kick some butt in this garage.

Can't wait to see where you take it!

Congrats on the upgrade! Now the problem is, you're gonna have to buy more stuff to fill in the extra room...lol....Feels nice having more room I bet.

Thanks Eric, I'm crediting you on the title; simple and in line with my last one, perfect! I've definitely just stood in the middle and smiled to myself, soo excited.

BTW, I just had to bold that comment, awesome!

Pressure is definitely on! Lucky for me my wife seems to be really excited about now having a lawn to take care of. This was definitely good news for me, more time in the garage, woo hoo!
