Default Plastic Lined Lug Nut Sockets

Does anyone know if Craftsman makes a plastic lined 12mm lug nut socket? I thought purchasing one of these sockets to protect chrome plated lug nuts would be somewhat easy. However I'm having a difficult time finding one and have been greeted with blank stares and people telling me they have never heard of such a thing. Anyone know of a readily availible source Craftsman or other?

Did you mean 21mm?

I didn't see any Craftsman internally lined, but here are some other brand I did find.

I think the ones I have seen are aluminum with plastic on the outside to protect the wheel.

bottom of page, 19mm $25 and shipping.

Someone else mentioned in another thread to take your impact socket you have now and slip some heat shrink on it. I thought it was a good idea!?

edit* I thought you were trying to protect the rim, after reading again I noticed you are trying to protect the lug nuts. Sorry I guess the shrink tube wouldn't help you.

The above link is a standard lug nut protective socket set. If you really do want a 12mm protective socket, try Mac tools. They make a complete set of protective sockets.

My mistake! The lug nuts go on a 93 Chevy S-10 pickup. The stud/thread size is 12mm but the socket size is 13/16".
