Depends on what your doing with it. Too many, too deep of drawers, for hand tools, for me, but if it was storing power tools, it might be fine.

Agreed, those big drawers dont seem all that useful. I like a box with one or two long drawers then the rest broken up.

+2 Agreed -- mechanics chests need plenty of wide shallow drawers. Deep drawers in the top chest get pretty cumbersome.

Its not as good of quality as the ones they some 7 or 8 years ago. The drawer layout, as stated, leaves a little to be desired. For the money, I would take a serious look at the HF General box.

+1 on the Harbor Freight US General boxes. I like mine a lot more than the last few boxes I've seen at Costco. You can pickup the top, bottom, and side cab at HF for less than that $800 combo at Costco online.

Yeah would have to suggest the HF. Checked one out at HF today (looking for a wet saw, but can't pass a tool box:bounce:) ) and the quality of the box was noticably better than the one they sold that had been sitting there a couple months. Really better feeling to the bearings. With a 20% off coupon that box would be perfectly good for any homeowner and not bad in a small shop.

+3 on the HF box. I recently received a sales flyer from HF with a coupon on the back showing the 90320 box for $339.99 (says it's good till 04/20/09). On top of that use a 20% discount coupon and that will be a super deal on that box. I don't think you will find a better box anywhere for that amount of money.

all the way from china for only $55 :spit:

Bunker oil is cheap these days...

Anyway I guess I'd agree that having those deep drawers isn't as handy as having lots of shallow ones... especially on top. You can stow your timing light, multi-meter and cords in those deep top drawers on top but the bottom doesn't have many usefull ones, either.

Don't forget about Extreme tool, I saw those "in the steel" and they were real nice, good feel to the slides,etc...

I don't like the drawer configuration on the Costco box:confused:
