I had the same problem with my 15 year old Harbor Freight jack, nobody had or could get a rebuild kit. So I had nothing to loose and tore the jack apart. I laid out all the seals (mostly o-rings) and one other seal (rod wiper) style.

I got the mic out and sized up all the o-rings first, had all of them in an asst kit I already had. The pluger (rod wiper) seal I found online at MSC for $1.15

I cleaned it all out real good put the new seals in and fluid and it works just as good if not better than before. It took longer to clean than it did to rebuild.

I just called the California number and was told to lift the plate and remove the red button. Once button (plug) is opened fill with jack oil. resume or just replace old oil if seals are intact.
My 2 ton jack no longer elevated to maximum level. I used my neighbors 3 ton unit to do brake job.
Hope this helps some other shade tree, underemployed Bards out there.

Hola dudes, dudettes;
Looking for a way to rejuvenate my 3 year old 2 ton, non leaking-underperforming floor jack. Found the answer and replied to other post. :
