Default matco tool box key

i recently bought a matco toolbox off of a craigsist ad. it looks to be a 6 series just by comparing it to images on the matco website. the identification label has worn off. the guy i bought it from said that he had lost the key a while back but never had it replaced. what the best option for me to get some keys made, call a locksmith or call matco. my shop does not currently have a matco dealer. the box is in excellent shape, few minor scratches, its a double bay box. i got it for $1800 and a 6 month old 1/2"drive snap on tech wrench for $100. just need keys for it now.

call a locksmith in your area with the number on the face of the lock or post it here and i can probably give you any key information you need.

Matco uses a flat key with the end drilled at different depth's the lock shop's in my area couldnt make me copies .your best option is to go to matco online and get a new lock set with key's

ok nevermind, if it has the dimple type keys then i wont be able to help, sorry. if you have a locksmith in your area that works with "DOM" locks they mightbe able to help you but im not positive on that. call matco and they will for sure be able to solve your problem but if you can find a locksmith it may be cheaper

i pulled one lock cylinder out and the only information i could find on it was that it was a TuBAR cylinder, it had a patent pending number, and GDX stamped on the inside which i'm guessing is the key code.i checked matcos website and couldnt find anything about getting keys or lock cylinders, will i have to contact a matco dealer for these?

If you can find one with the same dimentions & mounting post on the rear, then yes, it will work.
