Who has the best 2 or 3 car home garages ? I am home shopping and hoping to get more garage I am also trying to pick up stuff in preparation like floor coating and other ideas. So whos got the best 2 car and who has the best three car standard track home garage custom barns and warehouse need not apply lets see what the regular dude can cook up? Also what tool or thing in your garage makes your 2 0r three car the most livable/awesome to you? I need some more ideas!

Nice stripe we have a contender here a sink would be awesome in my next garage always rushing to not drip hand cleaner in the house when washing my hands. I do have a huge air compressor that I will be hauling to the new house but I was thinking of building a spot outside and plumbing it in. How noisy is that thing inside!? do ytou leave it on auto all the time or run it up when you need it?
I don't think my garage is the best, but I'm sure my track car does. It's the only one of the family's cars that gets to stay in the garage. The other cars get to brave the elements, which currently includes a lot of falling ash.

Ok guys here are some pics of what I am starting with (should find out this week if this will be my first house or not!) all the carpet in the garage is the piece together industrial **** and has some light glue. I want it all out! I was thinking of going the U coat it way but that stuff is supper spendy!! Any ideas for that!? You can see its over wide so I am thinking thats were the tools will go. Any other ideas? also check out the side access this joint has! there is even enough room to build a over long 2 car garage and still have the whole other side for regular back yard! not that Ill be able to afford that for quite some time!

Thanks. Congratulations on the house. I've got two fold-down benches, one main wood bench, a small welding table, a big drafting table and a sink counter all crammed into the 20x22 garage. Here's a set of pictures. But that's out of date, now. These last two weekends, I added a whole new 30"x60"x1" thick steel working bench, so I guess now I've got seven workbenches in there. (I like workbenches.) It's super clean in the picture you see, but right now most of it is a total mess from this summer's building-a-wrought-iron-fence project. The track car has had to sit outside all month.
over the weekend was in LA and on our way out we stopped at Galpin Ford to see the mystereon. They have a neat museum mostly classic mustangs and some SEMA cars built to promote the dealership but its also were they filmed the Pimp my ride shows so I took some pics what do you guys think of the murals? I was thinking of a version of this but with galaxies instead of the Ford GT ? Also here are some of the cool cars in the collection

Pretty eclectic collection all in a separate showroom across from the main dealerships definitely worth the stop really nice people and a dream garage to visit I was starting to wonder how much super high polished marble tile would be for my garage!!

Man I checked the pix on your profile and I am just amazed did you build the cabinets yourself or did you buy them and if so were ? I just may have to steal your collapsable work bench idea but especially the one that covers all your welding supplies the clamps and such man my jaw just dropped but i am wondering how you secure everything up I am really worried that big steel bench would fall and smash the holy hell out of your porsche!
Thanks. I built all the wood stuff myself. I recently added three steel cabinets, which were ebay/craigslist purchases. The home-made stuff is the cheapest way to go -- that set of cabinets above my new bench probably involved less than $20 in materials.
I made the wood fold-down table first, and I made it so that it could be in the down position even with the car parked there. The steel table needed legs that went straight down, though, so I had to come up with a way to secure it so that there was no way it could fall down onto the race car. The hinges are screwed at least 2" into the wall studs, and so are the eye screws that attach to corresponding eye bolts on the table with a snap-ring-type carabiner. There are two separate sets of fasteners, so that if one failed the other would still hold the table up. I think it's idiot-proof, but time will tell.

The white car is a Victress.. 50's sports racer I'm building to go vintage racing.. fiberglass body, xk120 Jag chassis and a FI 283 Chevy... attached is the direction I am heading...

This is our standard 22' X 30' three-car garage in a typical Florida community. The house was built about 8 years ago. We moved in 6 months ago. The new house is about 200 sq. ft. smaller and the garage about 200 sq. ft. larger than our old house/garage; a fair trade-off from my perspective and closer to garage nirvana, i.e. a 2 bedroom apartment upstairs with a 6 car garage below. Nice to finally have enough room to walk around and work on the cars without having to always pull one out. Still have to install flooring and paint the walls...

Ok guys had a guy come out talked about staining the cement but at $5 per sq ft it was just outa my price range I do have 420 sq ft to cover so I am not sure what I am gonna do had some cool ideas so I might be able to come up with something.
I looked back and I forgot to mention this guy does concrete engraveing so while I may not be able to swing him doing the whole floor Iam thinking of maybe haveing a little engraveing done. I will for sure keep you posted I have another question! The carpet that was laid down in there is the snap together type and theer is all kinds of glue on the floor what should I use to get the glue off that wont mess up or make the garage floor water proof ? any solvent you can think of ?

Most of the cabinets came from Sam’s Club and are made by Seville. They are really well made for the price (considerably less expensive than Gladiator cabinets). The rolling 4-drawer cabinets are $165, the tall rolling cabinets, $188, the bench $199 and the wall cabinets $70. I will for sure be checkin out sams club for cabinets been workin on the house like crazy we did get a new steel security door installed will post some pics soon but other wise all the garage is being used for is a staging area for the dump/new stuff holding area.

DUDE! That has got to be the best lit up garage on the planet if you drop something in there and cant find it its because the lights melted its ***!! Can you maybe give us some tech on how you accomplished that daisy chain type set up !? I have two florescent tubes up now and have a stock pile of about 4-5 more in my current house that will be coming with me ! Oh and I told my girls Dad my plans for super thick crown molding and paint and stuff as good as the interior and he just couldnt wrap his mind around it! I keep thinking just wait till you see it!

I just bought my first house exactly a month ago today. Getting the basement garage functional has been my first priority. So far I've got the slatwall up and the paint started. My next big project will be the lighting.

well guys we got the 2nd fire door installed as well as started pulling nails and screws and all kinds of weird hangers and **** out of the walls. Next ill be pullin all the cables and **** off the walls and we are trying to figure out if it makes sense to re run the wires in the walls pics soon!
Sorry just noticed this. No tech help really needed, you can by T8's with an outelt in them so you can do the chain/train setup.
I found these on Craigslist and got them for $8 each including bulbs, they were from a company that was getting rid of some sort of display lighting that's why they have the angle to them. You can get them at Home Depot too, but they are about $50+ each. I got 12 for $100, I will put one in the storage area above the garage ceiling.

I really like that brick in your garage. I'm sure it seems like it's getting in the way, maybe taking up some sq. footage, but I think it's a really unique feature.
