How Ronco Informercial-ish

On the plus side, watching the product demonstration video on their website with Jaime Estrada was pretty entertaining

Funny, she doesn't look like a professional auto mechanic.

I wouldn't mind having one of those little lights, though.

The guys at Toolmonger.com tried them out. They fell apart.

yep, I agree seems like something Billy Mays would have pitched. Too much of a gimmick tool for my taste. I guess it could come in handy on a rare occasion, (on a sub panel door like in the picture). But that's about all I can think of?

Wouldn't a single magnet with the lamp on a flexible arm make more sense???

I also picked one out of the clearance rack at Home Depot. It wouldn't work so I took it apart and had to bend the contacts on the switch. I think it is more of a gimmick than a tool. My 4 yr old thought it was a toy, and she is probably right. I wonder how much battery life is in those little "hearing aid" batteries?

My work carries these L.E.D. work lights from Phoenix U.S.A. They're a pretty nice little light for the money and have a decent strength magnet and also a swivel hanging hook. $9.99 out the door everyday.

I've seen the same light rebranded and sold off the Mac truck for $14.99.

I got one of these mine lights for Christmas from a coworker... it is still stuck to my desk. Another coworker got one as well and one of his magnets came out right away (glued in, so easy fix). It's a single LED, so it's gonna be pretty wimpy no matter what, but the concept means you can point that LED just about any way you need. Oh, and no way to replace the battery I can see...

On the bright side, it looks like it would be a neat promotional product!

I got one super cheap on sale. Yes it is gimmicky but it is an interesting idea that does work in a pinch.

I fail to understand why bizarre lighting products are still being made. Just wear an LED headlamp.

I've got one of these in my box somewhere, it's actually rather neat. Has come in handy a few times where a 'traditional' lighting approach just won't work deep in the engine bay. Haven't had a need to use it in forever, though.
