for some reason what ever we do, our 1999 ford windstar alarm will go off randomly and cannot get it to shut off.
if we leave all the doors unlocked it will go off at night or if we lock all the doors it will still go off. sometimes when we are driving it will go off. is there a fuse to pull or somthing to disable the whole alarm system? it is kind of sad that we can no longer drive this vehicle because of the alarm problem. does anyone know where the alarm speaker is located on one of these? it is a different tone then the 2 steering wheel horns.

My neighbor's Expedition does that... It's really awesome when it happens for hours at a time (intermittently)!

Seems like I remember seeing a TSB on this problem, I will check in the morning and see what I can find out for you.

I am also having trouble with this alarm. I have grounded the green/purple alarm wire, and the alarm still goes off. Any word on that TSB you spoke of? |

if your willing to pay some diag, a ford dealer or anyone with a scanner with the ability to get into the gem module (i believe its the gem module on that vehicle) you can see the last 8 alarm events. that will tell you what door switch is triggering the alarm. most likely you have a door ajar switch failing and tripping a false alarm event. its an easy diag with the right scanner.
