With the Nanny off sick, my first 2 weeks of holidays have gone by without much getting done. I've been having to play baby-sitter (Mrs E-tek has this nasty way of referring to it as "parenting"!) I did manage to get my new gate done though!
I wanted it to swing open to give an unobstructed drive to my shop, so by drilling a hole in the concrete curb and fabbing up a single-point hinge for the top, I was able to do just that. I also re-re-purposed the wheel that was first on a kids wagon, then became a set of training wheels for my sons bike! The old gate (YUK!) - Materials (about $100 worth) - Of course now the Mrs wants me to re-build a similar fence on the other side....oh well, after a "brutal" 3-day work-week next week, I'm off again for another 2 weeks....

Ha Ha!!! True - but this is "outside" work and the Rotisserie (as much as aI want to get at it!) can wait for inclement weather. But again, if the damn Nanny wasn't away sick, I coulda got it aLL done.....Then out comes this ![]()

Nice work as always e-tek. Dont you hate it when you knock out one on the honey-do list and she wants more? It seems like I complete one project and it spawns new ideas and gotta-haves. Nevertheless, awsome job & thanks for sharing.

The faster we knock em down, the faster the list grows!!! It's OK I guess - as long as we get to "knock 'em" down too, eh?!

Finished up the other side fence as well....
Next (outdoor) project on the summer list is to cover the deck with a cedar shingle roof!

That looks really good, e-tek. The wood is so pretty it's almost a shame to paint it.

Thanks Jack - you're right. Of course with it raining every evening, we haven't been able to paint anyways....been wating to paint the damn house since May!
Anyways - got another major project done, the roof on the deck. Not sure why it's been "roofless" since I built it 5 years ago. Gotta love the smell of cedar - keeps the mosquitos down too! Now that I got nearly-retired professionally, I'm BUSTING my azz on the home front!!!
