Default SnapOn socks, any place cheaper?

Not exactly a tool, but a couple years ago I bought some pairs of SnapOn socks as part of a huge tool buy on e-bay.
To my surprise they have been by far the best socks I have ever owned.

One pair has finally (after much abuse) started to get a hole in the outer part. Multi layer socks, so I'm still wearing it, to my wife's chagrin
Anyway, does anyone know of a place that sells them cheaper than e-bay or better, who makes them so I can buy the 'source' sock?
Thanks.

I have no idea what Snap On socks look like, but I'm sure they don't make them, someone else does.

if you have costco around, they sell the American Made "HEAD" brand socks. that's only thing I wear now. 6 pairs for 12 bucks.

Yes, that's why I asked for the source maker, to 'take out the middle man'.
Um, the socks at Costco are what I want to replace with the SnapOn.
Not the same quality at all, not even in the same ball park.

The Costco socks, which are nice with dress shoes, are thin and if I walked one time to my shop (45 feet from the house, rough concrete) in just the socks, I could toss the Costco socks in the trash when I got there.
By abuse, I mean ABUSE, on the SnapOn socks.

I kind of laughed when I saw Snap-On socks. Then, a few weeks ago, my dealer gave me 3 pairs for free. I have to agree, they are by far the best work socks I've ever worn.

They look pretty good, but they don't carry those at any of my local five Costco stores.

Costco carries a different inventory at most stores. Our local is a 'C' store, small inventory, few SKU's.

Even in the nearest other four stores (one an A store) they don't carry that set.
I get into each of the Costco's in a 60 mile radius about once a month.

Where roughly are you located?

Dang, I'd buy 10 sets today at that price.
Or more...

Local SnapOn man is a very bad joke. Been waiting since the very end of October for three slides for a tool box. Probably never going to get them.

Yeah, I bought my sets as more of a joke than anything.
Those are great socks.

Coastal makes their boots, but I don't know about the socks. They have them listed on their site though. Scroll down the page to see the socks.

Snap-on socks are made (or at least were) in the USA's sock capitol of Fort Payne, Alabama. For a time, you could buy seconds from the mills but for some strange reason, Snap-on did not like people buying them without going thru Snap-on....

They are a special run sock and Snap-on is the exclusive buyer from the mills that make them. That was a few years ago though and they might be made in Ying Hing Ping, Outer Mongolia now for all that I know.

Our company started in Fort Payne and we used to do a lot of work with some of the local mills there. Those mills are only a 30-minute drive from my house by I still go down and get socks at times from the outlet stores.

Yeah, I checked there. The price on the socks is fine at 7 bucks a pair, but the shipping is way high.

It looks like they are made by A&M Hosiery of Fort Payne, Alabama. I don't think you can purchase them directly from the manufacturer though. I do see them for a good price on ebay now and then.

Cool info.

Wish we had an exact brand name of the maker as it is possible they also make their own sock in that quality.

Great, but can't find any place to buy under their name, must be jobber only.

E-bay is all over the map on their prices, but I guess that's where I'll have to go.
Thanks

I have a new pair still in the original package, I'll look for it when I get home. There might be a manufacturer's name on it.
