There was a thread about this already like a year ago. I have the free tool it just sits in my box never used...

Yes, in deed a free gauge given to you by a company that makes belts. Now you"ll be able to tell that the belt you thought was good, is actually worn and buy more gates belts.

I got the gates one. But, DAYCO will give you a couple of their gauges too. I like them better. Goto their website.

I have the Dayco gauge tool and keep it hand in my toolcart.The newer belts don't crack anymore,they wear out due to new materials used.A Dayco rep gave me mine.If the the gauge goes down all the way,belt is worn out and needs to be replaced.
