Of course you need a cordless drill good to a 1000 feet under water. When you have to get out of the sub to adjust the prop screw an extension cord wouldn't let you close the door.

Following the link, they are "Out of Stock".

It's capable of a work enviroment like that and still has a 3 year waranty, that is impressive to me.

I can see the value in the lower priced versions, but this one is clearly aimed at the mall ninja market.

That's funny. Just happens that I got my scuba diving certification a few weeks ago. I'm not supposed to go deeper than 60 feet though.

But I'll probably pick a couple of these up in case I decide to disassemble a shipwreck or something.

mall ninja .

LMFAO.

While I think this is interesting and enjoyed seeing / learning about their existence I don't really see allot of practical use for one of these in the "Pool and Spa" market. How many screws do you have in a pool or spa that can be dissembled without out draining it. Those screws are typically part of a water tight connection.

However, I can understand our government buying these in surplus. The developer obviously had "nameless entity with deep pockets" in mind for their customer base given the price point.

They are in a niche market with no competitors, of course they would milk it. And to the assumption these are likely made in china.

Hmm... the company is based in Hong Kong. I can see a small commercial market for waterproof cordless tools, but I can't see paying that much for something that looks so half-finished from Hong Kong.

If you don't get it then obviously you aren't tactical. I'm surprised they will even sell one to the general public. For something like this your SpecOps ID should be required.

Or you should at least have to know the secret code. They better hope DHLS doesn't find out.

Don't forget the scope, silencer and flash suppressor -- wouldn't want to attract any Great White sharks while disassembling that shipwreck

...too rich for my blood.

I hadn't seen this one but I actually looked into being a distributor for this company. After a couple of talks with them it became clear that the business model is to sell drills to "distributors", until they run out of willing would be distributors.

x2.

You sneak up on the bad guys and drill a hole in the bottom of their boat/sub/50s Chevy truck with 55 gallon drums tethered to it.

And your avatar makes me laugh.

If you watch the video you can see it can remove plastic lugnuts molded into hubcaps.

Also impressive runout, my **** can rotate straighter than that drill.

I would buy it just because it looks cool and store it in a bucket of water, Apart from that looks like its ****.

Curious as to what happens if you use it at 329 feet.

18V on a 6AH battery with dual leds? Better ban it.

Have to admit, I do want that angle grinder good to 50M though.

Is this CT legal? I guess if it comes with a reduced voltage 10v battery it might be. But since its black and tactical and has a pistol grip, its probably banned.

I could see this being useful for anyone working in very wet environments but the price would need to come down some. Divers and spas are just the obvious but construction workers, especially ones who to hurricane recovery; marine mechanics; hobby divers; and part of my profession, waste water technicians. Not that I would need 100 ft but it would be nice to not ruin a drill if you drop it in a tank for example. I've done it.

BTW, I also work as a government contractor and we have to abide by government spending rules when buying things. The days of $2000 hammers and toilet seats are gone unless there is specific justification for an item. Like spark proof hammers, wrenches, etc for use in hazardous areas. Then you are bound by availability or custom building constraints that may drive the price. At lease that's my experience. I don't know about military spending directly.
