Cornwell Toolbox... Yet another what's it worth question

I've been reading on the forum for a while, and I'm amazed at the wealth of knowledge located here! I've tried to search for a similar box and put a value on this Cornwell, but haven't had much luck... Possibly due to the "ghostly" ways of the Cornwell tool trucks! This 11 drawer box measures 42" wide, 47" tall, & 22" deep. I couldn't find a model # when looking over it today, but the guy is asking $1000. What do you guys think is a fair price? It needs a bath, but other than some cleaning, it's in good shape.

Thanks, Sticks96

Yea that 1K is a bit high. That is an overgrown cart, I know it is a tool box but size wise I mean. I would pass on it unless you can get him to go down. You can get a bigger box if you wait for it.

I picked this blue one (big one) up for $750. The yellow one in the back for about $2800 NEW never had a tool in it.

IMO $1000 is just too much for that box...give him your offer of $500 and your phone number and tell him if he doesnt sell it, your offer stands if you havent picked up another box yet, shake his hand and walk away.

My local CL is filled with boxes that are priced WAY too high. You would think that after several months of relisting the same ad at the same price people would get the hint.

That is a CTB-4024BR cabinet. In 2001 it listed for $2250 new in 2001. It was made by Kennedy. I own the 60 inch version of the same cart. They're sturdy and well built.
Cornwell has switched suppliers many times over the years for their tool boxes from Remline, Waterloo, Kennedy, and currently back to Waterloo. The problem with that box, is that parts are no longer available from Cornwell.
The cart should measure 24 inches deep overall. the drawers are 22.70 inches deep.
Given that the box is no longer made or supported, the box market is soft, and I'm cheap, I would go no higher than $750 if it had the keys and was generally clean inside and out. Good luck in your quest and welcome to the board!!!

Thanks for the help fellas! I'll offer him 400-500 and see if he bites. If not, the search continues... Wish me luck that the lil lady doesn't have me blocked from Craigslist before I find a good deal on a box!
