i'd like to have one of those for $6.33. :(
Me too. So I stopped by HD this morning, checked the tools, electrical, & clearance sections. No luck for me finding the 336 (6"), they had plenty of the 337 (7") for $26 so I guess that explains why they were clearing out the 336. I didn't bother driving to the other HDs.

Milwaukee pocket prybar and cat's claw.

The prybar is made in China, but it's flawless. Even the design from an engineering perspective tells me this will not break easily. The tip is ground all the way so it's suitable for even sunken staples. No more looking for sacrificial chisels.

The cat's paw is made in Taiwan. It's cast iron from what I can tell, already has lots of rusty blemishes, terrible overall finish.

The pry bar was about twice the price of the cat's paw.

If you look around in Home Depot, maybe you can still find a Estwing cats' paw for $8. That pry bar is more expensive than I thought.

More Duralast goodies today. Used some rewards so basically got the stuff for half price.

3/8 drive 18 inch breaker bar. Haven’t had one at the house since I brought mine to work when I started this job. It’s been much needed and it was longer than HF I think so yeah and feels a lot better made too.

24mm wrench for the house. Will be doing my tie rod ends with it. I have a Craftsman lobster claw one but it’s flexed under minor stress so I’m going to see how this one compares. My other Duralast wrenches have done good.

3/8 drive standard length ratchet just simply because I wanted it as I love their ratchets. They are very smooth for what they are. The price is good too compared to Home Depot who sells identical ones. And you can get the Duralast without quick release and I hate quick release for most situations. Lost many of sockets that way.

And a single 14mm deep which will go to great use on the Toyotas at home. Have a bunch already but needed to get closer to completing my rail.

I seen one of my coworkers there too who works for a different brand and he completely endorsed Duralast just about all his hand tools are Duralast or auto parts store stuff. I buy them because they seem quality and I like the rewards program. Judge if you want like they do on the other forum I’m on but it’s good stuff. If it wasn’t good I wouldn’t buy it. I trust it at home and work. I’ve been using my chrome 21mm 3/8 drive on an impact the last week there isn’t a mark on it that shows it being on the impact. I figured I’d put it to the test and if it does break try out the warranty.

I'm certainly not one to mock anyone's choice of brand. I'm on both ends of the spectrum: I've bought HF tools on sale, and Milwaukee M18 power tools at full price, so I'd be incredibly hypocritical to do that.

But, I do wonder why you keep buying single tools. You'd probably save a bunch more money by buying sets.

Lol. Sometimes I feel like o should buy a full set. Then my ocd would go crazy cause I’d still have gaps in the set I need to fill lol 😂. Either way it will get you haha 😂.

This is new to me this morning. My coworkers grandpa passed away a couple years ago and he inherited a toolbox. He really liked my Craftsman 75 tooth ratchet and he doesn’t like our Snap-on representative so he came to work today with this ratchet belonging to his grandpa and asked me if I would trade my Craftsman for the Snap-on and $10 and I said sure. This thing is locked up completely but it might just need a new grease job. If not I’ll have Snap-on warranty it. This guy doesn’t own a single Snap-on or any tool truck tool other than what his grandpa had which wasn’t much so he doesn’t deal with our rep at all and didn’t want too. This has a date code of what appears to be 1987 though to me it looks older than that. Model number TM70B and I’m happy cause I’ve been trying to get my rep to get me one this size but he never does. Shorter than any of my current 1/4 ratchets. The Craftsman I traded was a Chinese replacement I got for another Chinese one before Sears closed so I wasn’t using it. I grab any ratchet before that one.
Hey Blake,

I've had good success with soaking them in a tin can of ATF.

Many times? No further action needed...

I hear you. I go through extremes of stupidity... I'll rush out and buy an expensive Milwaukee tool sometimes; other times, I'll go YEARS refusing to buy a replacement for a lost socket or wrench ("It's GOT to be around here somewhere, it'll show up!!!")...

Picked up a couple of felling bars:

OK, I don't know what those are, either. BUT, I have a bad feeling they'll belong over in this thread soon enough: https://www.garagejournal.com/forum...ou-find-browsing-online-and-then-want.510037/

Haha. I decided to use an adapter with my 1/2 gun after lunch ended up snapping both adapters on a very stuck lug nut. Was expecting the socket to go before the adapters. I didn’t even try the 3/8 because if the half couldn’t get it then I knew the 3/8 wouldn’t. And I had to use the chrome socket because it was an aftermarket wheel and the regular impact sockets would not fit.

Sealey AK6962 Bit Driver Ratchet Micro 1/4" Hex Stainless Steel

Ordered it on Amazon. From an Australia company... but it appears it's made in Germany. No COO is printed anywhere but it;s got good quality. Took a month to get to me. Spent a while in "Customs" for some reason. It will be added to my leather pocket protector with a phillips bit installed.

Should get some thin wall sockets with the plastic wheel protector sleeves. Slide the protector off for extra clearance on an impact rated socket.

Wow! Yea, l've ran into that where we had to use a 3/8" chrome socket.

I’ve got them lol. They wouldn’t fit with the protector off. The spot was so thin even the chrome was almost too thick. Had they been 19mm lug nuts the socket may have fit but they were 21. Whoever changed the wheels put new lugs on but they are 21 cause I tried 19 thin and even 20 regular.

AH okay I understand. Sounds like a half-assed cobbled together DIY wheel setup.

IIRC DeWalt advertises 300 foot pounds of torque.
Would you say that is accurate in practical use?
Sorry, yes it’s bad ***. I liked my Milwaukee stubby 3/8 until it was worn out too. I think they are very close in power with the edge going to dewalt. My new favorite tool is a Mac 20volt polisher/sander. It’s brushless and rocks A 3” roloc sanding disc with real power. Takes dewalt batts!

Craftsman stuff mailed from an actual Sears.

I wanted the screwdrivers because they have a substantial handle vs the thin metal "precision" screwdrivers handles in those sizes I currently have.

I've had a rubber strap wrench before, but it broke after many years. These look a bit stouter. I'll probably keep the smaller one in the kitchen.

Didn't need the magnetic bowl as I have one already the same, but that one doesn't say Craftsman. Close out prices and nostalgia were strong on this order.

I got a 17/19mm Mountain wrench. It completes my set. I bought them one at a time over the past few months. This was the last one I needed, but waited a while because it was the most expensive one. I got a Zoro coupon, so finally got it. I ended up paying $211.09 for the set of 5 buying them one at time on sale/with coupons. I didn't really save or spend more, so I feel like it was just an ok pursuit.
