Got started installing the wood trim for the upper wall/ceiling sections of the office. Finished trimming the drop down stair and the under side of the wall over the big tool cabinet.

Managed to get the big Craftsman tool box up into its place without damaging the painted top of the large tool cabinet. Tomorrow I'll put all the tools back in it.

I christened my future garage with it's first small project. The Kei truck got a little TLC with an engine and transmission oil change as well as flushing the coolant system and new anti-freeze. My future garage isn't finished yet. No doors, electric, lighting, or plumbing, but it's still a good spot to do some light vehicle maintenance on a nice day.

Got me a new RTT rack instead of fabricating Up another one, and got my RTT back up off the ground.

now I am ready for those impromptu chances to just show up out of the blue when my brother posts up he’s gone camping. Just need to get one of the toys back up and running….

I seriously need fender flares and mud flaps!!!

Moved my wood shed around. Filled in some holes next to the shop. Leveled it out getting ready for some 3/4" rock. Also made a strap for my blocks for the kubota. Just incase I throw a track or need to adjust I can throw these under the back and lift the machine off the ground safely.

Roomie wandered into the garage at just the right moment & we made great strides in cleaning up **** to throw out or take to the junk shop. Not only cleared floor space, but also shelf space.

Then I found these two at the junk shop & had to rescue them... $3.96 out the door for both.

Since Spring has decided to show up (finally) we're going to get the road bikes out tomorrow and get a ride in. Of course, having been hanging since Fall it was time for a wash, lube and some new shoes. 20230421_175231.jpg20230421_172624.jpg
It seems I don't have the hand strength that I used to have so getting the new tires on was a lot tougher than I expected.

A nice New Holland Red for my vintage hoist/trolly. I hope I got enough of the oil and grease off of it to make that paint stick!

Also hung the first of several 10k lumen 8' lights to replace the discount **** up there now. Just need my electrician to return and wire it up.

My wife wanted a grille guard for her DD 2021 Bronco Sport so I got her one & it was time to install it. We moved her motorcycle & the ZTR mower out of the garage to make room for the Bronco. Removed the complete grille/front bumper assembly, a bit of a PITA, installed the mounting brackets, cut 2 slots in the tow hook filler panels, reinstall the grille/front bumper assembly, mounted the grille guard & the front license plate bracket & license plate.

I like it. Really looks good!
My wife also has a bronco sport and wants the grill guard with some lights, but removing the whole front is probably beyond my limited ability...

I rented a mag drill and made some holes.

My mind is blown.

I've never used one before, and it's amazing. If anyone's trying to drill holes in a steel plate by hand, good on you but I drilled over 50 holes in maybe 2hrs cleaning, marking, managing the birdnests etc. Amazing.

I've been using my welding table for some time now and initially when I set it up I'd intended on drilling the holes for a clamping strategy but after wasting way too much time trying everything to get just 3 done I said eff it and never looked back. A few years later now a buddy was embarking on the same project and so we're making use of a weekend rental of this bad boy. Very excited about having all the additional hold downs mid-table. I don't need them often but when I do this will be a really nice change.

For the OCD folks I added a bit more hole density on the left side only.

Nada damn thing yet.

I’m debating on moving the 72 from the right side of the garage to the left side. Left side has garage opener. Right side is manual.

Reason for doing so is I want to lay down some fatigue mat or something similar and turn the right side of the garage into a workout spot now that it’s warming up kinda. I have the weight bench already, just need a bar and plates.

Reason I haven’t yet is that just working in the yard is a damn workout. I’m gonna be splitting wood here soon Lmao.

That and I believe that if I move the truck to that side, maybe that’ll be “inspiration” to finally order the heads and such I need to get it running again.

Kinda hard though, as I just spent $2500 on property taxes. Can’t justify another $2k+ on aluminum heads, studs, and associated stuff yet. Maybe next month.

I was very hesitant tearing into a 1 1/2 year old vehicle. Read up on the Bronco Sport forum as many threads I could find of people who installed them & watched a video on it which BTW they leave out some of the screws that need to be removed to remove the bumper/grille assembly. The hardest part was releasing the clips from the bumper/grille assembly to the fender which is up high under the lip of the fender, PITA, the rest were just screws. You defiantly need a second set of hands to remove the assembly, not heavy just very bulky.

Worked on a distributor for a Gulwing Mercedes V8.
It is NOS but needed the old grease cleaned out to work. Also had some parts removed from it during it's shelf life. Made, found and replaced whats was missing. Tested and adjusted what I could.

It's available if anyone needs a dizzy for their Gulwing Mercedes.

@vwpieces, that's really cruel. In 1963 I was a Temporary Indefinite Substitute Clerk/Carrier for the US Post Office. The size of my title was inversely proportional to my importance and pay. Delivered a package to a man who was working on his 1956 Mercedes 300SL Gullwing. I told him I loved his car and he said "Come back with $6,000 and it's yours!" because the fuel injection system was acting up and he was sick of working on it. My annual income was $4,200 that year so he may as well have asked for a $Million.

Oil and filter change on the new too me 2010 Charger. Oil filter(mobile M1-113) won't even try too start so off to try another one. Air filter box lid didn't want to latch either. Not sure I want too even mess with the transmission filter.
UPDATE: Picked up the same filter but from Autozone and it spun right on.

Owner of the dizzy has a similar story. He had a chance to buy his same Gulwing dream car back in the day at $4500 and could not make it happen back then. He has bought and sold hundreds of cars and many rare parts in the past 50yrs and that is the Only car related regret he has.

Since spring is in the air I have been sanding our hickory rocking bench to get it ready for the summer season.
I started dry sanding it and it was clogging the sanding sponge so I wet it and it worked 100 times better. It's pretty tedious sanding each slat but when it's done and oiled again it will be beautiful again.

Cheers

Have you tried a pressure washer? Pre-treat and spray. Much easier for that sort of thing.

Screwed up my courage and took a "Test Ride" on the Electric Scooter my neighbor gave me. I decided that I am not comfortable on it and will be looking to find a new owner for it.

I will have a Birthday in a few weeks and don't feel like celebrating it in a cast; if I am lucky.

I just might buy myself a Four Wheel Mobility Scooter for my 84th.

Cleaned up the mess from mower blade cleaning/sharpening. Moved20230421_202357.jpg some things around and put the KTM on the hoist. Managed to get the rear wheel off, seemed more difficult than when I put it on last fall. Also drained the fuel tank and float bowl. New tires should get mounted tomorrow.
